This scumbag stole over half a million dollars from a 79 year old neighbor who had dementia.
That is the lowest of the low and I hope the FBI and Chicago authorities throw the book at this low life loser.
She certainly is scum. Unfortunately, elderly and disabled adults are exploited far too often...and her method was far from atypical. I used to investigate these crimes for my State. In addition to being common, they are incredibly difficult to prosecute. It doesn't surprise me at all that this woman would commit this crime...financial exploitation of the elderly is one of the easiest, cheapest crimes to commit, as well as one of the most disgusting and vile. Worst of all, this crime is almost always committed by someone the victims trusts and/or loves...a family member, a child, or a friend. In this case, it was someone who presented herself as a friend.
