Looks like an amazing documentary

It sounds a bit like a look at a true femme fatale???

maybe femme fatale isnt the right description

but her cons and lies have left a trail of destruction, misery, victims who lost everything, and at least one person who lost everything including their life.

she's just one of 'those' people, without conscience or morals,a crook,a pathological liar, evil ..whatever you want to call it i guess

I'd call her a nasty piece of work,to be avoided like the plague

This woman is a femme fatale in every sense of the word - she's an alluring figure who can suck people into her web of deception leading people into dangerous situations... A very definite figure of the noir underbelly...

From what I saw (I missed the last 15 minutes when it was shown on TV, sadly, but by then the pattern of her lying and manipulation was well-established) you're right on the money about her being a "femme fatale".

What's most fascinating about this documentary is its insight into human nature. If a human being presents him/herself as very attractive and charming, people's hearts so often overrule their heads! Again and again you saw people attempting to believe this stinking cockroach of a woman against all the evidence.

There's a reversal near the end where she's gloating about having made a certain person believe her ("I spin out this bull, and she's buying it!") and it makes you sick to your stomach.

I hope she goes down for fraud.

There is no doubt she will be charged for elder financial abuse and fraud, and she will likely being spending many, many years behind bars-which is exactly where this lying dirtbag belongs

A lot of this movie reminded me of Shattered Glass, the movie about Stephen Glass' fabricated articles for the New Republic. Glass was so affable and charming that everyone fell for his tall tales. Also his desperate attempts to make some parts of his story seem genuine and his retreat to lower levels of deceptive behavior as he was investigated mirror Khouri's actions in this film.

It truly was an excellent film. The only think I didn't like about it was the song they kept playing...it wasn't a bad song, it just got stuck in my head! It's still stuck there, and I watched it again Saturday with my wife and brother! AHG!

Seriously though, an excellent film and a chilling study of an absolute sociopath.

She's a crappy writer.

One of my favorite scenes was how the woman (I think she was an activist in Jordan?) tore her book to pieces.
