Jake Busey is a pretty interesting character......:)

And that barb wire scene was pretty ridiculous.

that barb wire scene was pretty ridiculous.
Looked like a nod to This House Possessed (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083192/), one of those cheesy TV horror movies from the 80s.

jake always plays an interesting character....i like him as an actor

I think the makeup's really good. Love the guy that got chopped up in the machine!!
I think it's funny, too...

It's trippy seeing Gary Busey's idiosyncrasies and hear his voice coming out of a different body. Jake is his own person, but there are bound to be comparisons.

The half body girl crawling along the corridor was pretty mind blowing too.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.

reply

Yeah, it blows my mind that they can put green screen fabric on the lower half of someone's body during filming...

It blew my mind more that the scene where she gets her bottom half cut off was so plausible, even in the context of a horror film. I'm gonna go stick my arm up near the blades of my ceiling fan and see if I can become an amputee...

The license plate machine scene was decent though and Gary Busey was alright.

How many slasher films are yet to be made where the token black dude dies first, and most violently. Chopped into sections, what a symbolic cliche. Favorite line? "They're mine, you little cow. I got 'em from the dead boy, and I'll kill you if you try to take 'em." LMFAO

reply

favorite line, "Dudes don't slap."

The black dude was not the first one to die. Ronny was pushed through the cell

I enjoyed it too. It was rather not the kind of movie that has nothing but mindless gore, but more of a core feeling of dread and horror. But of course, how can you not get that feeling with a movie about a ghostly prison that used to hold the worst of criminals.

reply

I did not expect it to have this much gore. I thought it was a made for TV movie.

reply

I thought it was well done - good haunted/Ghost story - very gory, good acting

Me and a friend watched this last night on SciFi. Decent gore for broadcast TV. Busey was good. He would have better roles if he wasn't Gary's brother. Funniest bit? Towards the end when the remaining survivors went looking for Marco, shouting his name. Every time they did that, we would shout back at the screen "POLO!"

The film was uneven overall. It couldn't make up its mind whether it wanted to be a straight-up horror film or a comedy/parody.

"...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night."

reply

FYI I believe Jake Busey is Gary's son, not his brother...

He's really a chip off the ole block, ain't he?

you're dangerously close to making me puke

Weird film. Jake Busey's character looks like Boris Johnson! Pmsl.

"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"

reply

I didnt expect so much gore either. The guy getting cut up in the machine and the girl crawling down the hall with half her body missing gave me the creeps. I believe something awful also happened to a nun. Movie was disturbing but pretty good considering it was made for tv.

I love this movie a lot! I think that it was really well done and just the prison itself give off that creepy vibe. Jake Busey is one of my favorite actors and I think that he did a great job with this character. The gore was well done and the movie's plot is interesting. I always love movies set in old places like prisons, asylums, and such.

I also have to say that I love a lot of Kevin VanHook's films. Another one that's really good is Voodoo Moon. He's a very good filmmaker and is really good with doing effects because I think he use to be a photographer or animator. Something along those veins.

My favorite line from the movie is:

"Maybe I should just, stop that big mouth of yours from running."
"Man you have been huffin' and puffin' since the day we met."
"Then maybe it's time to blow your house down. Woof!"

Janice Van Meter got hit with a baseball. . . it was fabulous!

Busey was so annoying! I couldn't wait for him to get killed off!

Act like a woman and man up!
