The guy was such a Marty stu!

He was such perfect with his martial arts, that it was boring. There should had been a side story that while he is an excellent martial artist; he is terrible at dancing, and is afraid to do so in public.

To which Wendy decides to teach Shen how to dance, and eventually gets the confidence to do so.
