This show has gone down hill since Timmy joined the cast.

I really enjoyed this show until Timmy joined the cast. He was amusing at first but has become extremely annoying. If he hates his job so much why doesn't he quit?

He's become so pompous and unfunny that watching his predictable responses and mannerisms are unbearable.

I might be a hater but was wondering if anyone felt the same way. Liz on the other hand makes a great character addition.

Good grief, YOU PREFER LIZ OVER TIMMY?

Advice... get help! Seriously...

That's what makes it funny. It's also a lot funnier when Timmy manages to get the last laugh over Russell on so many occassions lol.

I LOVE Timmy! Between Timmy & Jeff I am constantly laughing!

I don't think I'd even watch the show without Timmy. Russell's only funny when played off Timmy. DS is great as Finch but Russell gets old fast. Don't like Audrey at all. She's never funny and usually really boring. The rest I like but to me, Timmy makes the whole show.

reply

The show was funny before Timmy came but he does add to the show. Audrey is often a straight man/woman -- that adds to the comedy. There was some subplots where Audrey got to be funny, including when she went to her high school reunion and wanted to rub her "success" in the face of others.

reply

#3 - yes I remember that. It's when Russell was under some sort medication and thought the cab driver was Timmy lol.

Everyone's got different tastes, but I for one enjoy the character of Timmy. He's got a dry wit about him which makes it really funny whenever he does something out of character.

I'll bring the BEARDS.

reply

You must be joking? Liz is disgusting!

reply

I also really like Liz and Timmy annoys me. I hate his accent and how he calls Russell sir. Actually, suh.

reply

My bad. I got mixed up and forgot who Liz was. I was thinking she was the surrogate. She's actually the one Russell was married to. I don't like her either. I liked her in a show with Jane lynch that she was great in years back. It was about a dating service. It was funny but didn't last.

reply

Sara Rue plays the surrogate Brenda.

Timmy calls Russell sir because you are supposed to call your boss sir or ma'am....it's called respect.

reply

True. He also calls him Mr. Dunbar sometimes.

I was watching ROE just vaguely, but truly stated to enjoy it, when Timmy came unto the story. All series became more narrative-driven (I'm not saying Timmmy's character is at stake here). What I mean is, since Timmy the series isn't just about relationships who loves who how much and on and on, but also on values beyond togetherness.

reply

Tim makes the show A LOT more interesting. Liz is a bore.

reply

No it hasn't. And while I can barely stand Liz I LOVE Timmy and his interactions with Russell.

reply

I feel exactly the opposite of you - I think Timmy's a breath of fresh air and always puts Russell in his place. Love Timmy!

But this show overall has lost its edge. The baby's taking forever to be born, Adam gets dumber each episode if that is even possible, Jen's clueless being "engaged" (use this term loosely, we'll never see a wedding) to Adam when in real life she'd run for the hills, Audrey/Jeff have the same arguments over and over now, which will only escalate when the baby is born.

The networks did this - putting a show like ROE on hiatus so many times - to The Adventures of Old Christine. Now there was a show that deserved a full season. Each year it was miraculously revived from the canceled pile. But this show is still around? For shame.
