can they ever make a good movie about kurt?!!!

i agree w the other commenters stating that this movie was a waste of time...i was actually looking forward to watching this...until i actually put it on!!!!!!! the ridiculously pretentious "visuals" just distract from kurt's words...

between this and that piece of garbage, last days, kurt must be rolling in his grave!!!

the only thing ive seen about kurt worth watching was some documentary on ovation...it was factual, interesting and thought provoking..not some "abstract" nonsense!! give me a break!!!!! this is exactly the type of stuff kurt HATED!!!!

i, for one, as a DIEHARD nirvana & huge kurt fan am disappointed once again!! when "come as you are" came out, i must have read that thing cover to cover ten times..i probably have it memorized at this point...what a bummer this movie was! thank god i didn't see it in the theater, i would have walked out.

on another note, i heard the most ridiculous "lithium" remix on "boombox" sirius station the other day & almost puked! remixes of nirvana/!?!?! it's too bad a genius' work is not being treated the way it should be! :(

I dunno, it's all about how hungry you are to see some information about nirvana. Like me, I hadn't even thought about nirvana and was ashamed to be obsessed with them as a kid once kurt died.

but now i'm doing all the research that the 13 year old me should have done to cope with his death instead of bury it deep down. When your 13 and lose an idol like that it's kinda *beep* up.

So, even this lame movie helped me out. and Even though it sucks, it's still a morsel of life given to this dead guy we care so much about.

and we all want kurt to be alive, though he didn't even want to be. How *beep* up are we?

i mean, if he didn't have a kid then i'd say go ahead and pull the trigger, it's ur life. Some people just aren't meant for life, or are only meant for a certain section of it and he knew that. For a long time he knew

you're a diehard kurt fan, but yet you still say he "commited suicide"
if you were such a fan && you "read" all about him && know everything then how can you still say that? I've read quite a bit about Kurt && I KNOW he was murdered. They even want to reopen the case because of all the evidence leading toward that [W H O R E]. Kurt would never kill himself, he had a daughter. He'd never leave francis. && you'd know that if you knew anything about him.

listen troll,

Things this high profile are usually call-them-like-you-see-them. The easiest answer is most likely the correct one.

Just because you didn't want Kurt to kill himself doesn't mean he didn't do it.

Didn't you read his journals, he's been talking about killing himself for so long. So, maybe you're right. Kurt was murdered... but only in the sense that no one stopped him from killing himself. and that's not really murder.

I used to be addicted to Heroin and i've lost 5 friends from suicide caused by the addiction to Heroin. Not overdoses, but suicides with legitimate notes and everything. and all the notes sounded just like Kurt's.

If they were even trying to find the 'real answer' then why didn't they just match the suicide note's author's handwriting to one of Kurt's many many journals??? They CAN do that now; it's the year 2008.

The bottom line is that addicts kill themselves to save themselves from a living hell. They try to kill the addict no matter what's at stake. There's no way to be a successful addict. There's no comfortable level of addiction.

You really should let it go, you're going to have an 'aneurysm'(get it?). Don't let it 'drain you' man. I mean, you really are a 'downer' to other Nirvana fans.
'Even in his youth' kurt was sad, bi-polar to be exact. and if there's a motto for people suffering from bi-polar mania it's: 'i hate myself and want to die'.
People with bi-polar disorder need to take medication like 'lithium'. So, don't be such a 'negative creep'. Kurt wanted out and he didn't want to be the 'big cheese' anymore. Stay out of his 'beezwax'

THANK YOU, i'll be here all night folks... try the fish.

thank you man. this dudes over here calling people he doesn't know, posers. Now he looks stupid but he's probably used to it.

He should have quit while he was behind.

Saying Kurt was murdered is right up there with Bigfoot and Elvis.

yea we wanted to find bigfoot, yea we want Elvis to still be alive. but wanting something isn't enough.

In fact, they did investigate the handwriting, compared it with his and determined that it was "most likely" not his own. I am not obsessed with Nirvana, I just watch a lot of CNN. Who cares if he killed himself, his whole ideology was that he was no "better" or that much different than any product of this generation. You guys have definitely proven that true. It is believed that two different people, neither of which was Cobain, collaborated to write the note in a style similar to his own. Oh yeah, if this movie "sucks" then how would you make it better? If you want a CD, just turn the television off.I have never seen another movie about Kurt Cobain and simply watched it because it was on demand. This was beautifully put together and I would much rather see the natural wonders of Washington State's rural and cultural roots than a bunch of stills of Kurt Cobain (I do not find him very attractive). He is no "idol" either as his logic was flawed, however, he was brutally honest about himself and the world (this is a "very dangerous way of thinking" in the U.S.). A number of people could have killed him, and a number of people stood to benefit from his death. Why didn't he write a suicide note when he overdosed? Bottom line, I do not care, but I think a "couple" killed him, like the majority of forensic scientists who examined the letter. Do not bother arguing with me, I actually watch movies and keep up with society, hence, I will not be here again. I am sorry your friends died from heroin, but I do not think that Cobain was a miserable person like many addicts I have studied. Despite his refusal to say so, he had a lust for life. His personality, although he did not know it, reflects adsurdist philosophy. The only plausible way he would kill himself is if he ran out of heroin, maybe he did but why did someone else write his note?

reply

Wow.. another one of those people that can't handle that their idol took a cowards way out. He's never leave francis? Well, my dad killed himself when me and my brother when i was young and we were under the same roof at the time - so that is just *beep* people that wants to kill themselves doesn't give a *beep* about anybody else.

What's the proof that got you believing that Courtney did it? Because she wanted the money maybe? That seems to be a favorite amongst the "courtney did it" folks. Too bad she signed over all the right to the royalties to Francis and didn't take anything of it herself, kinda puts a big plot hole in that one. And the fact that Eric (from Hole, and one of kurts best friends) hide all the demotapes kurt had recorded before Dave Grohl came to the scene to pick them up, so they won't be released on soundtracks and compilations, instead they kept the tapes so they could release a tasteful compilation when the time was right - and not cash in on the classic "they are worth more when they did"-thing, that we are experiencing now with michael jackson.

Sorry if i my grammar or spelling is off, english isn't my first language and i just wrote this up pretty fast because i'm so tired of the whole "she did it" thing. Even Nick Broomfield (Kurt & Courtney) changed his mind and doesn't believe in the murder angle anymore, he believes kurt did commit suicide.

Have a good day.

I always thought Kurt liked abstract stuff. He was a big fan of Sonic Youth (which certainly is abstract), he was into all kinds of art and collages.

The reason for little to no Nirvana footage, I believe is purely a financial one. It cost money to use copyrighted footage, photos ans music in a film.

Oh and lastly, Kurt Cobain was cremated, making it impossible for him to roll over in his grave.

reply

know it alls rock harder then nirvana. they rock harder then your opinion, they just freeakin rock!

great, insightful slice of kurt's opinions.

dude, i was a Sr. in high school when they broke I think living with courtney drove him to suicide.

He tried b4 in Rome. Either that or he was od'ing and somebody shot him while he was od'ing.

reply

Funny (not haha) - he says in this movie that the pain he was suffering made him want to kill himself - to "blow his f ing head off." He said it was from all of the physical and mental pain. How telling is that?

"Aaaawww, what's in the box? What the f#@k's in the f#@king box??"

reply

Just finished the documentary and heard Kurt repeat the statement that he thought seriously about blowing his head off. Kurt's obsession with commiting suicide makes me seriously consider the probability of his carrying out that very thing a year later than the last interview in this documentary.

But do we ever really know anything for certain when it comes to these things?

reply

Sonic Youth is abstract???

reply

I talk about killing myself all the time...doesn't mean I will really do it.

It might interest you to know that the author of your beloved "Come as you are" book is the same freakin guy who had all the AUDIO of Kurt in this movie. I do agree that the visuals were pointless.... but the audio interview was worth listening to. Try reading Heavier than Heaven.. Its a really good bio of Kurt... if you havent already.

reply

I didn't enjoy Last Days either, but I think this one is way better than you're giving it credit for. The visuals aren't abstract! They're as pertinent to Cobain's life as they could be without being actual stills of him and his friends. Places where he spent time. Places he merely passed through. Everything we were shown helped shape his world view.
