Lazy MIB ripoff

This was a character-for-character reiteration of the first Men In Black movie by way of Hellboy, with a little bit of Ghostbusters and Ghost thrown in. The odd couple cops routine was workmanlike and by the numbers, and none of the jokes were funny. Whereas Men In Black had an innovative diversity of alien monsters, the concept behind the "deados" seems to be a single minded notion that obese people are scary. Just because a movie is about dead people doesn't mean its soul should be dead from the get go.

I agree with every thing you said. Can I just add that it's been a long time since I've seen a movie where you just feel the producers crammed as much CGI, footage onscreen, for CGI's sake, rather than the overall quality of the film itself. RIPD should exist in perpetuity as a reminder as to how not to make a special effects driven action comedy.🐭

NO IT'S A COMIC BOOK RIPOFF..... they did not copy MIB but copied this comic book:

Agreed. It was Men in black lite

And the whole thing needed a memory wipe device to make it less idiotic but they obviously couldn't do that without totally ripping off MIB

And why, when dead people are revealed to be dead, are they fat, weird looking people? (They're not frikking aliens)

OP is dead on!

I don't know what movie you watched but this was nothing like MiB.

Reminded me of "G vs. E" more than MIB.

Agreed, MIB meets Ghost Busters mash up. But I enjoyed it for the dumb fun it was.

I think an MIB comparison is quite valid and yes it is inferior to MIB, but I actually liked it better than the sequels.
