How was Sandy killed?

I'm watching the movie right now on FX with a million commercials. Editing is bad. All I saw was Chad? put his hand over her mouth after she was hit by another guy. Can someone please tell me how she was murdered?

reply

I don't have it to refer to right now, but wasn't the punch supposed to have killed her? Something about framing Jack because of his awesome martial skills?

Don't want to be that guy but it's considered polite not to include spoilers, especially in thread titles.

...then whoa, differences...

Charlie's partner knocks her out, while Charlie himself suffocates her by holding her mouth and nose shut.

reply

Charlie, not Chad. He suffocated her. It was supposed to look like she'd been killed with
a single blow, because that is how she's killed in the book. In the book, both Reacher and Vlad, the guy who kills her, are big, muscular men, both former military, and Sandy is petite.

Thank you all for the responses. What a sad way to die.

reply

Yea very disturbing scene. I hate violence against women.

reply

Funny that. I hate violence against men.

reply

It's heartbreaking, because she wakes up as she's being suffocated and a tear runs out of one eye - you know she's thinking "I should have listened to that guy and gotten out of town"

Talk about regrets.

I thought that her eyes opened while he was suffocating her, indicating that she'd regained consciousness - so I wondered why she didn't struggle at all.

Just saw it quickly the other night on TV, so maybe I imagined it.

reply

Everything was so poorly done, so forced, it's beyond explaining. I hope they do a little better job on the second movie, at least when it comes to details like that.

reply

No expert. Might her 'reaction' be simply autonomic? The punch would have rendered unconscious any person. The lack of oxygen would have triggered an unconscious physical response. Whether her eyes should open or not is questioned, I suppose.
