To the people who question the teenage parties.

You do realize that they were purposefully exaggerated don't you?

The parties outside of the group (as in the ones that are shown with the stripper pole) seem exaggerated because it was meant to be exaggerated. The exaggeration of the other teens' parties were meant to show a greater contrast to the Group's Saturday nights. They wanted to show that the Group didn't drink, they didn't do drugs, they didn't do the things that many would consider "normal" for their age. The purpose of making the other parties so overdone was to highlight this contrast, to spotlight it, to show just how different the Group was to the others.

No one ever said they were trying to be overly-realistic with the other teen's parties. That wasn't the goal, the goal was to show the differences by exaggerating the one's party.
