Kelly's husband to be

Alan seemed like an odd choice for Kelly. Did I miss something? Did he have a lot of money?

reply

I feel they went with someone who would physically appear an exact opposite of Ben Foster's character (Will) in order to emphasize the distancing of Kelly and and Will's relationship. Alan had long hair, beard/mustache, and was portly. Will was trim, clean shaven, and had short hair.

I am constantly astonished in real life at the number of what appears to be totally mismatched couples. Who can figure how or why the laws of attraction work? I accept that Kelly may have found Alan an appropriate mate. And I appreciate the film even more for this little piece of true to life story telling.

he did have alot of money, as evidenced by the wedding reception (or whatever) scene.

it was intentional for his character to be wealthy in order to contrast him with Will even further.

reply

he boxed the dude from "the hangover" in the season finale of "bored to death".
