This should have won BP not The Hurt Locker

This movie caught me by surprise. I just clicked on the TV this movie had just started. I had no intention of ever watching it mainly coz I can't stand Foster's overacting. But once I got into I just couldn't turn it off. It was very emotional, had great acting and was directed to perfection. That long kitchen take was well done. It gave you the feeling that it was really happening. Foster has now impressed me and I think I'll give this guy another chance. The Hurt Locker was really tough to get through for me despite Renner's decent performance the movie was pretty bland.

The Hurt Locker won BP because the academy was just dying to give the first BP Oscar to a women director..........it was all about politics! And the fact that she was the ex-wife of the director who made the TRUE best picture of the year only sweetened the pot. In 5 years no one will remember the Hurt Locker while Avatar will still be being watched constantly. With the Academy we're talking about the organization that "recounted" in the very first Oscar awards and took the best actor award away from the true winner - Rin-Tin-Tin!!!!! Guess they thought it would make the human actors look bad?

Yeah it should have. But the Academy has politics always. Far better storytelling and gripping drama.
