Why was she so twitchy?

Why were her eyebrows always jumping up and down? And she kept twitching, throwing her chin forward...

It's not the blindness, BTW. I used to work with blind people and some of them do make strange repetitive movements (a lot of rocking back and forth) but not this kind of twitching. And in the movie, in the brief clips where she's somewhat younger, I didn't see the eyebrow twitching. Anyone know if she has Parkinson's or something?

They did mention him giving her her pills etc, so I'm assuming she's got some kind of degenerative condition.

reply

Maybe its something to do with her getting lye thrown in her *beep* face... if it blinded her I'm sure it probably caused nerve damage also.

reply

My guess is that she had a skin flap or pedicle graft that resulted in shared innervation of the muscles that raise her eyebrows with muscles used in speech or facial expression.

reply

yeah, what hq-3 said. that's not exactly how i would've worded it, but close enough.

First off, don't ever touch me again. I will beat you to the f#@king ground, boy.

reply

Tardive dyskinesia is a side effect of some psychiatric medications. Could be that if she takes pills, but I'm not sure.

reply

I noticed this too, and I can say it is probably caused by nerve damage to her face, as previously mentioned.

LOL: I noticed that too!

It may have been due to medication or, perhaps some people just have exaggerated facial expressions when they speak.

Could it be hypertension, in whole or in part? Living with that psycho is probably a daily marathon of walking on eggshells around his obsessions and temper. He probably beats the sh*t out of her. She's a broken person, a prisoner in the fullest sense. He can't even be faithful to the woman whose life he destroyed, and stalked/threatened the woman he cheated on her with. The guy should be put down.

How about that woman willingly and knowingly becoming his mistress for 5 years, knowing (1) he's married; (2) his history.

She asked for it. Everyone has a duty, and a religious obligation, if you are religious, to protect yourself.

She didn't know he was married. And when she found out he gave her fake divorce papers.

She was 22 when it happened. A teenager when she met him. She was just a kid and still left him and moved on.

What history?

Guess who has two thumbs, speaks limited French, and hasn't cried once today? This moi.

No that poster was referring to the woman he cheated on Linda with in the 90's

Hypertension is high blood pressure. Short of taking someone's blood pressure, there are no symptoms of high blood pressure until something in the cardiovascular system breaks because of it. Her twitching would be muscular and nerve related in some fashion.

There is nothing to indicate Linda ever had to walk on eggshells because of any reason. There is nothing to indicate Burt had any displays of obsessions or temper that resulted in Linda living with increased anxiety or behavioral changes after they got married.

There is nothing to indicate he ever was personally violent towards any person, much less ever hit Linda or gave her concern he would be so after they married.

Although Burt did destroy most of any chances Linda might have had in life, it is quite a stretch to state she's a broken person, a prisoner in the fullest sense. She decided to make the best of some bad outcomes resulting from a horrible event.
