1) why didnt the scottish woman at the start simply break the glass to get out?
2) why did robert carisle and his wife jump off the dam?
3) why did that guy kill himself minutes before he could actually be useful?
4) why didnt the just blow up the dam instead of risking not being able to open the gates manually?

I wondered about the design of the facility that the manual system was way below water level! You can bet the architect didn't plan to manually open the gates!! :-)
Why didn't the meterologist take a second SCUBA tank of air with him? RU telling me there was only one?
Oh well, overall I did like the film since I just sat thru it a second time in two days while nursing a bad cold.

Actually if you rewatch the final scenes again you very clearly see YES there is a 2nd set of scuba gear which Robert Carlysle is putting on as the old guy goes into the door. That guy is an idiot though just letting himself die like that, I don't believe that with the air he had left in the tank he couldn't have got back above the water line and waited in the area by the main door that was above water until the barrier opened. That was a huge inner area before he reached the water, there must have been a good 2 or more hours of air in there. Combine that with whatever air he'd have had left in the scuba gear once the room air went bad, he'd have survived to have been freed and saved easily.
shareThats the reason why i said this show's ending is a armagaedon (pardon if i spell wrong) wannabe. ALL fathers had to DIE during a mission to save the world (mankind, or country) so that his child can be with the one he/she loves. The father DIED kind of in a lame way, i was too wondering why he didnt hang on until he will be rescued since obviously they found his dead bodies which means, they have ways to access to him (its not a i go in and no coming out kind of situation).
I guess hes just gotten too bored with his life. lol.
