Probably, but I don't think he's reached the point yet where he is ready to accept himself for who he really is, so in his mind he's still telling himself that he's straight. He probably won't have his first boyfriend until after he graduates High School and moves someplace more accepting of homosexual lifestyles.

I think he just wanted to show the girl that she didn't have to be a whore for a guy to be interested. I think everyone should have that kind of positive influence on them, especially their first year in highschool, and especially when they think they have to put out to be accepted. He was probably my favorite character in the movie.
agreed...seemed like eddie was generally a nice guy, and didnt' want to see this new girl he met become a freshman whore/skank to impress guys and get them to like her..
i can remember this so vividly when i was in highschool in early 2000's..the new young girls would come party with us, and they would get wasted and put on a show and would try to hook up with a different guy every night..i was guilty of hooking up with some young girls myself, which i not see how wrong it was of me... so it was good to see this movie send a good message that it doesn't have to be like that...you can have fun and be liked without puting out for some different guy every night at a party..
eddie was a cool dude in this film, and i wished he went to my highscool and hung out with my crew..
I agree with you guys 100% Eddie was a good guy and a protector in a way, not only did he keep this girl from doing something she might regret he also kept the photographer from getting beat down by one of his buddies. He was one of those guys that everybody could relate to and like. So i don't think he was gay but just a fun loving good guy who didn't take advantage of anyone.

I think he was just more of a hippie free spirited type of guy. He valued things a different type of way than everyone else.
