The marriage between Devito and Chenoweth wasn't believable

The way they kissed and touched eachother it was basically as forced as it could possibly look. Ms. Chenoweth gave the exact impression that any normal person would have and that would be the face someone would make if they had to kiss a short, stocky, bald man twice their age. Anyone else see this?

I agree with that statement. I also thought that the other couple, Kristin Davis & Matthew Broderick were very believeable and had good chemistry. The kids were weird though.

reply

The twins were so hot.

reply

I don't think anybody wants to kiss Danny Devito.

I turned on HBO in the middle of the movie and I thought he was her dad! LOL then when i saw the way they kissed each other i was like whoa! over all this movie wasn't HORRIBLE. it was like a 5 out of 10. i thought Broderick and his wife were believable enough.

To quote Kramer from Seinfeld, "These were real Hooters." (Chenoweth)

And they're spectacular!

Anything is possible. My parents are completely opposite, but they still love each other lol. This is just a movie though, so it’s not real just acting.

I haven't seen this movie, but the subject of this board caught my eye. Am I to understand that the Goddess Kristin Chenoweth has portreyed the role of Danny DeVito's wife in this movie? Seriously - girl has to get a better agent. The only sensible premise in this scenario would be that he is a self-made billionaire, and she is his gorgeous trophy wife. Otherwise, is relatively unfathomable. I suppose that the only qualification they were looking for in casting the role was to find someone short enough to fit the bill.

I thought they were cute

They were cute together. And the director said he liked them because they were opposites which is what I like about them. Both couples were good, but in different ways.

I see couples with horrible chemistry kissing on TV and movies every day. And they are a lot more "matched" on looks than Danny DeVito and Kristin Chenoweth.

Part of the reason I hate kissing scenes. So uncomfortable watching people who don't even like each other lip locking 3 inches away.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

reply

well i thought they were perfect for eachother. these days lots of people match up with people twice their age. well i thought the way this kissed and such added caracter to them. i actually loved the two of them together. it makes the movie funny and it just fits together.

Bear in mind the 'comedy' reason they met... but I don't want to defend a movie that's as bad as this one was, so criticize it all you want, for the oddest of details!

It's made from bits of real panther, so you know it's good...

I've watched this movie twice a day for the past year, and I can honestly say they are made for each other. I've never seen such good chemistry between the couple. There's a deleted scene where Danny Devito is talking about how they met furthermore.
He was caught spying through the life drawing class, and then they met cus he was stalking her and asked her where the clothes store was for 'short and portley men'

reply

I know it's been a year, but I totally agree w/the OP - you can almost see Kristen Chenoweth's skin start to crawl every time she has to kiss him!

reply

I agree with the OP...no chemistry between them whatsoever. Anyone who thinks they have 'good chemistry" is probably 14 and hasn't seen enough movies.
