What was with the dubbing?

Was it me or my DVD? The dubbing was absolutely ridiculous, which is kind of strange since they were all speaking. . . English.

It was extremely annoying and seriously took me out of the movie.

Probably your DVD. There was no dubbing when I saw it, 10 mins ago. Just a fake russian accent.

When I watched it, there was only dubbing for Boris near the end of the movie, during a scene where he slurred his English a little. I assumed it was for the sake of clarity during that section.

dubbing throughout the film would have been seriously annoying.

They intentionally dubbed Boris' words after Sonya shot him with a muscle relaxer in his jaw. With the over-the-top Russian accent and slurred speech they probably thought people would have a hard time figuring out what he was saying. The really funny part of that was they dubbed what he was saying *with* a Russian accent. At one point he tells the two women to move, but the dubbing is spelled "moof". I found that pretty funny.

So, not only are you a cadaverous lay, you also have shítty taste in movies.

getting back to the OP's question. I know the difference between dubbing and sub titling and yes the movie appeared dubbed in spots. Especially Stephen Dorff's lines.

It's called overdubs. It's done a lot in films but is usually done so well you don't notice unless you're a total film buff. In lower budgeted stuff it's often more noticeable. Have you people ever watched a movie before or is this your first?
