I was watching this and wondering who owns the rights to the short films made. Are the contestants allowed to enter them into festivals or use them to promote their talents?

Just curious.

I think Mark Burnett Productions owns the rights to the short films made on the show.

We own all normal rights to the shorts we made to get us from the top 250 to the final 50, that we were required to make in less than 1 week back in early Spring 2007 (which they didn't show much of on TV), but Mark Burnett's company shares non-exclusive worldwide rights as well. So we can still submit those shorts to festivals and show them anywhere (I have mine on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npC4MXSSIY4 and my website), but technically they can show them as well. As for the weekly shorts made by the final 18 during the run of the show, I'm not sure.

Yeah my One Week Challenge short "Fleshy Loves Kittens" (which freaked Carrie out!) was recently featured on Comedy Central so hoping I dont get a call from Burnett's lawyer... whoops...

The themes to choose from were:
1. Blinded By Beauty
2. Skeletons in the Closet
3. End of a Relationship

We managed to squeeze in all 3. See if you can find them.
