Death in Robin Hood

I really like Robin Hood movies. I guess it depends on your style .. you may or may not like this "style" of Robin Hood films.

I really enjoy the Russell Crowe style Robin Hood but I have laughed over Cary Elwes Men in Tights.

The thing that bothers me in this series is that Robin Hood has many times to kill Sheriff of Nottingham
and varies bad guys.

Okay, he has zero problem killing random bad guy but for some reason cannot or doesn't want to kill Nottingham

Killing them wouldn't really ruin the story .... I mean the king can just replace them and then they would fight those guys off ....

It's just like Batman in this way and it annoys me.

Kelly: I'm under Evelyn Waugh.
Charlotte: Evelyn Waugh was a man.

The initial reason for Robin not killing the Sheriff was that Prince John would just send someone even crueler to replace him anyway (how that is possible, I'm not exactly sure). In fact, in the first season or so, Robin didn't really kill a lot of people, even the guards, though later they start dropping like flies. However, the thing is, killing the Sheriff would kinda ruin the series, considering his zany, over the top cartoonish villainy is part of what makes this series so fun.

If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend the Sean Connery Robin and Marian.

And if you can find the series, watch all of Robin of Sherwood. They actually have two Robins and try to reconcile all of the conflicts in the legend. The music is also fabulous. (I have the soundtrack and listen to it occasionally.)
