About Robin and Marian. Yes you do have to see the Connery/Hepburn version before deciding.
And you left off Richard Greene (Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen, Robin Hood, Robin Hood with his band of men, Robs from the rich, gives to the poor, Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood.) Four seasons on TV.
I must admit Errol Flynn (sp, Robin of Locksley in this one.) will always be my favorite. Basil Rathbone, Olivia de Havilland, Claude Rains, Alan Hale, Eugene Pallette, You can't beat that technicolor or the Korngold score. Bob Andersen isn't credited but I thought he worked on this picture. I know he worked with Flynn on more than Master of Ballantrae. Peter Diamond too.
Next would be Sean Connery's Robin and Marian.
Then Robin of Sherwood. You really do have to see that.
Robin Hood Men in Tights would be next, just ahead of the Zany Adventures of Robin Hood with George Segal. (Yeah, no one remembers that one.)
Richard Green's The Adventures of Robin Hood (sp. Robin of Loxley) would tie with the Disney animated movie. I think the Greene version was shown by Disney for a few years.
I wouldn't bother with Russell Crowe or Dances in Tights Kevin Costner. I didn't care for either of those. Costner was particularly offensive due to the accent, or lack thereof depending on where you live.
