Shows how stupid it is to follow religious dogmas

The scene where during the war vegetables were distributed around, and food rationing was going around. Well then, you have to eat WHATEVER THERE IS!

I would understand if by eating anything but vegetables gets you killed, but because of religious beliefs you can't even do it? Guess it shows that mathematical abstract genius does not correlate with the overall intelligence.

And that goes to all the people out there in 2016 still fixated on your mystery man up in the sky. :)

Yeah. Its insane how stupid people can still be. I can never seem to get my head wrapped around it.

Pig ignorant motherfcker.

Reaaaly? To my knwowledge the scientific community, especially Stephen Hawking, have called people who are religious, ignorant. And that statement and mentality comes from the group of people who actually are contributing to the evolution that you, your religious buddies and everyone else can use fancy gadget and fly planes.

For some interesting reason poor people and people with low(er) education are much more religious than people with good income and secure life. So, what does it show? Looking for comfort in your fancy man in the sky when you know nothing happens anyway?:)

Or do you perhaps have more efficacious reasoning behind the "ignorant" part?:) Who knows, maybe you convince me. Maybe i'm the ignorant.

Oh, religious dogma aside. His girlfriend was actually 12 back when they met. Though understandably this film doesn't want to portray it as so. It gives a pretty huge pedo vibe indeed. But that's what you get when you can spin numbers in your head, come up with some formulas that you have hard time proving, but still follow yoru country's dogmas. Overall intelligence not so great.

See previous post.

Yeah, didn't expect you to come up with anything. Judging by your history you don't seem to be the brightest kid in the room.

So Ramanujan was of low intelligence because he believed in a higher power. Got it.

What about Gauss, Euler and Newton? They were all religious. Were they also of low intelligence?

And I guess ... you're smarter than these guys?

reply

If this believing gets you in dangerous shape, then yes, your social intelligence level is low. You lack of any critical and analytical mindset.

reply

You lack of any critical and analytical mindset.
You are right! Those mathematicians lacked analytical mindset.

reply

You know exactly what i mean. You can be a genius in inventing abstract math (which, still, he was to lacking in proving the theorems) but you can be stupid in every other sphere of life. Including his dogmas. Like Stephen Hawking said people believeing in something higher somewhere should come up in their senses and use this time and hope for something more productive.

Same rules apply to Stephen Hawkings too. Scientific genius but his religious viewpoints need not mean anything to anyone else. And having belief in the existence of almighty does not really require any wastage of time or energy or anything.

It's nice that we have this nice thing called hypothalamus in our brains. But, still, pious people can't be considered intelligent. Socially. Emotionally.

That is the dumbest argument one could come up with.
Plenty of scientists believe in God.
A great physicist is not beyond all possibilities of human error.Whether God exists or not, God only knows that. But calling people people who believe in God ignorant or other derogatory things does not provide an impressive picture of one's mindset.

As far as Stephen Hawking is concerned, he is a great physicist/scientist and that, precisely is the area of his contribution.Any words of his in those fields are matter of gravitas but outside that,as any other human being he would have personal opinions on religion/politics or other things-and those are not to be taken with as much importance

If you actually knew what you were talking about, you'd realize that this is actually more of a cultural dogma, or even just a personal choice, and not really a religious dogma at all. In fact there are no distinct eating restrictions in Hindu texts other than eating beef, as this is their one sacred animal. The one animal they must keep pure in order to have a pure path between them, a lineage of animals, and God. See, even a self alluded to intelligent person like yourself has been fooled by modern stereotypes or the like, rather than knowing the truth behind your very own argument. Many Hindu people eat many kinds of meat and it is not generally frowned upon. We are all somewhat ignorant because of our exposure to cultural dogmas and such, and religious dogmas as well. It is as automatic as time is for humans. Perception is a huge part of the entire inner human battle. The wise would not make fun of others for being lost in dogma, for you too are certainly a victim of it, and the pompous are likely to be a casualty of it. Why snare your own trap? A wise man speaks with compassion and understanding. At this point, you are obviously not one of them. So who are you to mock an obvious genius? An anonymous pompous nobody on an internet message board? Take a look in the mirror.

A film I recommend for you and your psychological afflictions...Bang The Drum Slowly (1973).

Some Hindu texts do encourage those who want to be pure or closer to God to refrain from eating animals, but this is not a restriction or a necessity by any means. The Manusmriti for example...

Except during a time of adversity, a Brahmin ought to sustain himself by following a livelihood that causes little or no harm to creatures.
