Haven't even watched it, but do we really need to start sexualizing 13 year-old kids now? Is that really helpful? Or will it simply increase the exploitation of children?
Few 13 year-olds I know are anywhere near ready for sex. Hell, few 15 year-olds are. But this film basically gives older males permission to go after them. Kudos.

The point of the film is not that she was ever ready for sex. It shows her development, her burgeoning sense of being a sexual being, which happens at any time. Becoming sexually aware doesn't mean that you're ever ready for sex.
What the film actually shows us are two relationships that are sadly quite common amongst teenagers: the first a casual though intense relationship with a boy her own age, and the second being a highly inappropriate one with a pederast who manipulated a young girl who was sadly ill-informed about sex.
If anything, this film shows how desperately our children need to be properly informed about sex, so that they know when they're being taken advantage of.
I still believe that peace and plenty and happiness can be worked out some way. I am a fool.
This film is exactly why children need to be taught early about what is happening to them,not to be ashamed of what is going on, and what is or isn't appropriate. Children are forced to grow up so quickly ,look at girl pageants, they look 15 years old.

You probably do google searches on the internet for movies like this, so you can cast your judgment without even watching the movies. BTW *beep* the actress was 18 years old during the filming of this movie.
