WOW! What did I just watch? (Spoilers)

Wow! I can't believe the piece of junk that I just watched. Holy crap. I have never been more disappointed in a film. Here are my gripes, and a lot of them are repeated here in the message boards, but these have not been covered.

1. What the hell was this shot on, because it doesn't look like film, especially in the beginning, I was honestly thinking that it looked like MiniDV. I guess it works because the camera moves, blocking, and angles are all about the same quality.

2. The first rule of filmmaking or any sort of story telling is to have a likable character, I didn't feel bad for anyone in the film. Nicole and Jesse seemed like they hated each other. Of course perhaps that didn't come through because of the flat performances muddled with expletives. I was forced to wonder if any of the cast or the director showed up for this film, or just phoned it in. Even in the sappy flash back, Jesse laughs at her and tells her she's full of *beep*

3. If you are going to make an effects driven horror film, spend a few bucks on the effects, don't go to Spencer's Gifts and buy a rubber finger and a couple of gallons of watery fake blood. And I love the "big reveal" that Nicole has killed Jesse, is so laughable. Supposedly he can't talk because his lips are sewn shut, with a good half inch of play in each stitch, and an extra inch or so on a few looser stitches... He could have delivered the Gettysburg address with as much fervor and excitement, without popping a single stitch.

4. If a character is trying to elude an antagonist, don't announce as loudly as you can, that you can get the sunlight open!!!

5. How does a gallon of gasoline explode a building? Honestly what could possibly be in there. Speaking of gasoline, there's nothing like a finger tight fuel line to make you really feel good about the car you're driving.

6. If your intention is to torture and kill a person, why would you drive off as many times as this killer does? You're in the middle of nowhere!! Where are you gonna fill up with gas? I'm just gonna close the doors and assume everything goes to plan! Come on!!!

7. Who put a missing sign up for Nicole? No one alive knew where she was!!

8. And lastly, the only thing worse than the actual ending are the alternate endings. Especially the one labeled 2A on the DVD.

So I guess, what the director/writer had envisioned was a blood splattered girl stripped down to her bra, facing off against an attacker. But even that needed to be amped up because they had to put her in a mini skirt on the poster!!!
