Worst Movie Ever.

First comment I ever left.
This movie is utterly rediculous.

Yeah dude I agree,

see below.

Hi guys,

Kind of pointless to talk about 'getting' it or not, there are so many other better horror films than REST STOP to spend time discussing! (I'm a huge Zombie Fan, because it's kind of self-parody, kind of CAMPY QUIRKY, so 'House of 1000 Corpses' and 'Devil's Rejects' are way up there, also the silly humor and squirminess of 'Cabin Fever', 'Wrong Turn', and 'Jeepers Creepers' are just so entertaining! plus the claustrophobia, constant dread, and excellent character development in 'The Descent' from last summer is just PHENOMENAL!) So come on guys, there's a whole world out there of GOOD HORROR FILMS. 'Rest Stop' is not one of them.

I fast forwarded a little bit (while still watching the subtitles) cause 'REST STOP' just dragged and dragged at points, i.e., with joey lawrence (NICE!) playing the cop and all the flashbacks and poor nicole just crying and crying and crying...sheesh!

But by far the best part of the movie was when Joey Lawrence cop guy wanted Nicole to shoot him. 'Put the gun in my mouth!' 'Bang' Nicole screams, blood splatters...a few beats of silence...Joey's eyes snap open: 'You missed! Shoot me again!'

OH MY GOD! I was laughing so hard! By far one of the funniest unintentional comedic moments in any bad horror film to ever exist. I would seriously show this part (and this part only) to my movie-buff friends. The scenes in the bathroom with Joey were just bizarre - overly melodramatic, forced emotion, sappy, cheesy, etc. I just wanted Nicole and the cop to build him a cart out of wheels, call for back-up, and prepare to ammo up and go commando on the killer. but oh yeah he was already dead or something stupid like that! so disappointing! But remember movie fans - the take home message of REST STOP is that you have to make sure you kill Joey Lawrence. Twice. WHOAH!

others to watch (and actually think about and/or enjoy) - The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Host (Korean), Three Degrees (Chinese, Korean, Japanese), The Hills Have Eyes (only the first one), and both Texas Chainsaw remakes. WHOOP WHOOP!

DISAGREE. I GUESS U GUYS DONT UNDERSTAND THE MOVIE

i agree.

err, no.

I often wonder if those who are significantly dissatisfied with a recently viewed film merely log onto these boards and begin a thread entitled "worst movie ever" in order to nullify their short-term exhasperation. There are simply too many threads baring such a title for them all to be legitimate.

Not perfection to be sure, but for somebody to suggest that Rest Stop is truly the worst movie ever made represents, to me, a far greater void of logic than any I observed in the movie.

Just a few weeks ago, I sat through two main stream cinematic releases that were A COUNTRY MILE WORSE than this, and even they were masterpieces when compared to what I consider to be EVEN CLOSE to being the WORST MOVIE EVER EVER EVER MADE.

Have some sense of proportion!!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. Rest Stop, a low budget film that is released straight to video is a GREAT slasher film. I'm not new to this genre nor with horror and gore. I got lots of movies to compare this with and my conclusion is, Rest Stop is a great horror movie with crazy twists and heart pounding scenes.

I give it a rating of 8/10.

Congrats on giving garbage an 8/10.

Very well thought out and measured. "Worst movie ever"; top marks for originality too.

Just heartwarming to know that there are such sharp minds out there with their fingers right on the pulse of our collective cultural heartbeat. Well done, sir. You should write for Rolling Stone.

Note; that last sentence actually wasn't sarcastic.

A real nightmare! Not a redeeming virtue - Why all that gore? Everything is bad, evil; cruelty extreme. No punishment for the criminal.

You really need to watch more films! I mean, this movie DOES suck balls, but there are others that are MUCH more terrible than this. Try "Sickle"... I actually cannot believe that I sat through that pile of *beep*

I'm pretty sure this isn't the absolute worst movie ever, but it's close enough. I often write reviews of Sci Fi trash, but I could not generate 10 lines disparaging this crap. The only redeeming feature was that the protagonist (I won't validate her by calling her a heroine) was offed before she could procreate. That surely raised the potential IQ of the gene pool a micron or two.
