Oh, lay off of Bea Arthur! She's a tough husky woman, I don't think she wants to be a man.

But then again there COULD be transsexual celebs and we just don't know it!

It'd be a GREAT to hear that someone like Brittany Spears or Jessica Simpson was born biologically male...

I'd LOVE to see the guys who have lusted after them get ready to commit suicide out of "gay panic" b/c they lusted after someone who was born biologically male.

I know of two transgendered celebrities. But as neither care to publicly discuss or acknowledge their pasts, I don't care to name them. But one of them would definitely make all the little wanking homophobes go Lemming on us if she was found out. Then homosexual panic would be the resident evil of the day.

But like I said, maybe there are and we just don't know it.

This is the difference between being gay and trans, if you're gay the idea is you're supposed to be PROUD of who you are, whereas I don't think anyone would be proud to be one gender trapped in the body of the other sex. They would just want to be a normal member of the opposite sex, so maybe there are some who have not made it public.

Some people who say that are ignorant. He might very well be if he claimed to be but, people need to realize there IS a difference between a gay man and a straight transgendered woman.

Wasn't she also in the Power Station's "Some Like It Hot" video? I remember when she was on a talk show back in the 80's I think. Can't remember which one, but I was shocked that she used to be a man. She's very pretty!

Two reasons why there might be few Transcelebs
1.Transexuality is still much less accepted and mainstream than being gay so they are less likely to "come out" about it publically. Most would probably prefer to hide it.
2.Transexuality is very rare. The prevalence of transexuality is only 1 in 30,000 people(although transgendered may account for 1-2% of the population). By contrast anywhere from 5-10% or more of the population is estimated to be gay so probably 1 in 20 or 1 in 10 celebs are gay. There are probably hundreds of millions of gays and only a few million transexuals.

Calpernia Addams, she was involved in a horrible hate motivated murder that saw her boyfriend killed and years later she ended up becoming a celebrity.

It's sad that none of us can think of any transmen celebs.

I would assume a gay man would seek out relationships (mostly) with other gay men and do not necessarily feel they are in the wrong body. A straight transgendered woman would be a woman born into a man's body who would seek out a relationship with a straight man?

And about the OP'S question--Does Chaz Bono count? Or is he just a relative of a celebrity?
