about kods watching this? I'm starting to feel like I live in Idiocracy. What's wrong?
A transvestite? Well hmm let me see, Baloo dressed as a lady monkey, timon dressed in a grass skirt and sang the hula....he said "do you what me to dress in drag and do the hula" and that's just two off the top of my head. Violent to kids....you people seen Willy Wonka? The Witches by Roald Dahl? Pinnochio?

Young kids may be bored? Let them tell you.

Anything else you would like to complain about?

Go read about why novels are aimed at a specific age group! I wasn't saying that all kids should revert from watching this. It's certainly not for kindergartens but it may be too upsetting for kids under pre-teen age. It's not much different from Coraline or Paranorman, which had bizarre and sick talk about torture and talks about gender issues. They were all aimed at pre-teens so I don't get why younger children are able to come to the cinema! It may have had a simpler story but I don't see much differences. What are the differences?

It was about as traumatic as Poltergeist.

There are some reviews that say that kids should be bored of movies!

 Why are you so mean? I was just stating my honest opinions and you said I don't speak English very well, told me to get off and thought I was a child. Sorry for my weird talk but please stop. It's possible I could've been something like too tired or too angry at the time. If you don't understand something, just say I don't understand something. As a result, I am reporting your uncivil post. I said in my sig not to judge people by their ages and you did it anyway. Please refrain from uncivil posting and apologize for your behavior. I do not know what is about this movie that isn't adult enough to mess up younger children.

Idiocracy? Willy Wonka? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? You have mentioned points that do not relate to the movie to make it enough for young children. It is on the same level as films such as Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, Corpse Bride etc. if you really think about it. You people need to start cutting me some slack. Laika proves that they can make films not for small children and just because it's animated and its cuteness, simplicity, and childishness is made to appear for small children, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. It still has some surprisingly dark moments in it and that's final!

What you also mentioned is middle grade novel, which is a little older than boxtrolls's apparent target audience.

My 2 year old loves this movie; she also loves cheese, so that might be why.

In answer to your question, people are freaking out about kids watching it because people project their own issues onto children, and then when you don't agree with the adult about the issue, you sound like a child abuser.
