Is it absolutely necessary for a movie to be so DISGUSTING????

The donkey scene
the puke on the past stats scene
the jock-strap-juices-into-the-shake scene
"I'll pay her to let you do her up the poop"
"Here, wear my clothes"
the principal's daughter soaked in dog drool

What does all of this (plus the stuff I don't remember because I blocked it) actually CONTRIBUTE to the movie, I mean seriously?

Really, how much worse would this movie be if they took all of that out and just left in the tennis and the jokes?

And I'm not necessarily just talking about this particular movie (though it's the one I've seen most recently). Scary Movie 2. Epic Movie. Not Another Teen Movie. The American Pie series. What is so funny and/or entertaining about wanting to puke or retch yourself?

I'm trying to be open-minded and understand. Hollywood producers aren't stupid - they don't leave things in movies unless they know it'll make the movie money and I'd like to understand why.

No, of course not. But what do you expect when you really look at the type of people of write this sort of garbage? it comes from the minds of the fiction comedy writers. Rick Stempson and Andy Stock, two legitimate down on their luck, never employed nearly 40 somethings. What else do you expect? Born raunchy, loving to spread the low character form of raunchy humor....its their lifestyle in the real world, and they are living it out in their screen play. Good luck to these two as they try to sell more of their crap to the big screen!

reply

oh no! bad language and gross humor... go to hell

reply

How much worse would it be? A lot. This movie isn't meant to entertain people who need to have clean humor to laugh. It's a dirty, toilet-humor flick, and if you don't like that, I suggest you stop watching anything of this kind, and stick to movies made for people with (what seems to be best defined this moment as) your sense of humor.

reply

Do *you* enjoy that kind of "toilet humor"? Did you find all of the examples I listed funny and entertaining?

reply

Yes, very much so. In that horrified "oh gawd I'm gonna puke" way. Just as I was deeply amused by Seann William Scott in American Pie: The Wedding, when he ate dog feces.

reply

Fair enough.

Seriously, I can respect both points of view and said so in my original post. I guess there are a lot of people who truly enjoy that kind of humor, and producers like those for this movie pander to them. I personally do not enjoy this kind of humor and would have liked this movie much better without it.

Your advice is sound - I'll try to avoid these kinds of movies in the future.

reply

Yessir, do that. Try something like 'What Happens in Vegas', it may be more to your liking. And while a lot of people would say that as a sarcastic comment, I don't. I laughed my hiney off when I watched it, thanks to Ashton Kutcher (or however it's spelled), and the romance part of it didn't even bother me.

reply

I love this movie. I want to make love to this movie.

How can we expect anyone to listen if we are using the same old voice? We need a new noise.

reply

Was it dog drool? Considering her character I assumed it was something even worse....

Everybody thinks fart jokes are funny, but the pseudo-intellectuals are afraid to admit it! This movie ain't for them!

"the principal's daughter soaked in dog drool"

I thought it was meant to be dog semen.

It was. It was.

What a pitiful attention-seeking drama queen.

Did you even look at the title of the movie? The cover art? Taglines? Lead actor? Plot?

What did you expect? "Splendor in the Grass"?

reply

Those over the top disgusting parts are what make movies like those. You expect them, you like them, and they deliver. I watched it tonight really drunk... and when Jeremy Jahns says "Its a good movie if your drunk" he is completely right in most case... Lots of movie you would watch them sobber... you wouldn't laught. But you grab a bunch of beers with friends and they become really funny. You see your friends laugh his ass off at a cheap joke and you start laughting yourself... thas normality. I had fun with this movie. Was it ground breaker and all? hell no, but was it funny and likable? YEAH !!!

Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!
