Am I the only person that couldnt stop laughing!?

I thought this movie was hilarious!

Maybe its because it was late and I was tired, but I just cant understand where all the hate is coming from for this film, Seann William Scott played his character really well, and his delivery of his lines just had me on the floor.

I almost diddnt watch this movie because of all the bad reviews, but im glad I did.

I cant be the only one?

I had extremely low expectations, never really been a big fan of Seann W. Scott - perhaps thats why I agree with you. It's cheap, seems sometimes completely without coherence and direction and it's full of childish, crude jokes.

Still, I found myself constantly laughing out loud in spite of myself. It's absurd, but funny. Saw someone compare it to Steve Martin's classic "The Jerk", and I guess that's not too far off.

I'm guessing people expected the normal hollywood cliché type of comedy, which this flick really doesn't fit into.
This is more of a indie comedy imo.

It is funny. It makes you feel good! That's what movies are for in my opinion. But, as I said in another post...the pseudo-intellectuals will tell you it is a bad movie while they secretly laugh at the fart jokes and pottie humor! They are too "high and mighty" to admit that they think a movie is funny!

lol loving the generalisations, i love crude humour just as much as then next guy but this movie was horrible. so many failed jokes...

I love this movie. I watch at least once a week. It reminds me of Election(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126886/) with the style of humor. Thumbs up.

This movie is *beep* hilarious, that's just the bottom line.

Gary's delusions are funny enough as is but having them completely reinforced throughout the film only makes the passing moments more hilarious.

I think people expected I Love You Man or The Hangover type humor and were disgusted by the less than mainstream approach of the film's jokes. It's a very different sort of film but it succeeds at what its trying to do. If you don't like that approach then it isn't for you, doesn't mean it isn't a good film.

NO YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE... I FOR ONE THAT THAT "GARY" WAS ONE OF THE MOST HILARIOUS CHARACTERS I HAVE EVER SEEN..(WOULD YOU WANT HIM MARRYING YOUR SISTER?)...LOL

THE REASON SOME HATE THIS MOVIE IS CALLED ENVY. PICTURE SOME DUDE SITTING ON THE COMPUTER IN HIS MOTHER'S BASEMENT TYPING ON THE INTERNET. ADD EXCESS FACIAL HAIR, AND YOU END UP WITH A FRUSTRATED HETEROSEXUAL WHO DOESN'T UNDERSTAND HOW A GUY WHO LOOKS JUST LIKE HIM (SWS) CAN GET LAYED, LET ALONE GET A JOB!?

I was dying when they were at the school dance and the death metal song came on so Gary just started moshing

At first I thought I was imagining it (because I was a little tired when I first watched the movie as well) but then I realized it was actually happening and just started cracking up

the 5.4 rating is baffling. this movie was 100% better than the piece of crap Good that SWS is in now, and it has something like a 7.1.

this movie is gold all the way through

You probably meant "Goon", not "Good".

If Goon was a piece of crap, I doubt that it would be rated 7.1 on IMDb. You find it a piece of crap, but that does not mean it is one, though.

my bad, typo. "Goon" was an absolute misfire. the character of Doug didnt know whether he was retarded or not, the story was lame, and the attempts at funny dialogue from Baruchel and the teammates was horrendous.

It's an essentially unheard of gem my friend, just count yourself among the lucky few who know it well. SWS kills it in this movie start to finish.
