Why the hell would Sean William Scott do this? Is this part of Randy Quaid's insanity? Did SWS owe Quaid something? aweful, aweful movie

I gave it about 20 minutes and turned it off. This was absolutely terrible.

have to disagree completely. i watch a lot of movies and i dont remenber laughing this hard in a while. it was goo comedy depicting a lowlife redeeming himself. excellent soundtrack, a great sport and lot of laughs, wht more do you want in a sport comedy?

I want comedy in a comedy, and this movie had none. It wasn't the slightest bit funny.

OT, but you are aware that a comedy is not necessary comic? The "Divina Comedia", as example, is not, not at all "comic" but is the archtype of a "comedia". In fact, the only thing comedia and comic have in common is their first three letters.

Am I comparing this movie to the Divine Comedy? Where I did that? Wasn't it that I mentionned that the word COMedy does not mean COMic ?

I did, I did, I re-read my post and I still fail to see where I mentionned THIS movie. Read the post before mine:

and my post starts with an OT (out of topic) warning, the topic being the title of the thread.

In other words, would the person, before me, would find the "Divine Comedy", which is a comedy, funny? That was the whole purpose of my intervention.

I understood your post the first time I read it (and it was NOT a direct comparison). But, MOST people associate humor (comedic) with a "comedy". I don't really see the relevance of your post...sorry. This film was intended to be comical. And, unless your slow in the head and need punchlines handed to you, there is a lot of humor in this film. Some of it is quirky slap-stick, but much of it is passive, random humor that requires a bit of thought to pick up on.

Someone else summed this film up well. Many slow moments, but there was plenty of humor that made up for it.

It always puzzles me how people end up watching a movie they hate. You can almost entirely sum up a movie in a trailer like the one for this movie. If you saw the trailer and said, "This movie is going to be terrible" Then 1.) Don't see it or 2.) don't be surprised when you hate it.

It's clearly a no brainer silly gross coming of age growing up moving on type comedy. Simple premise with sean william scott in it. What couldn't you get from the trailer!?

Maybe the OP didn't watch the trailer(s)? I never watch trailers because they usually contain spoilers and/or give an utterly inaccurate impression of what the movie is like. Watch the trailer for "The Fountain" for an example of the latter.

I see where the hate might come from but sorry, this is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.
