Joe Mantegna - best supporting?

How fantastic was Joe Mantegna as Charlie in this movie? Ok, I admit, I'm only 40 minutes in at this point... But my gosh... impressive!

I totally, TOTALLY agree!

Heck yes. I wasn't even sure it was him at first, and I watch dude on Criminal Minds every week. I was literally like, that looks like Joe Mantegna, but no...it can't be. Then, I checked here and my jaw dropped. Mesmerizing, heartbreaking performance. I'm about forty-five minutes into it myself right now.

I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior.

my question is, did joe really have a stroke or some kind of issue before playing this part, or is he just playing the role that way. it is so different to see him like this, i have to wonder. definitely different from the roles he has played in the past

reply

Interesting question. Hopefully he didn't have a stroke or anything like that - but gosh he did such a great job, I can see why you would ask!

Joe Mantegna is one of those outstanding actors who deserves much more recognition than he gets. Whenever I see that he is in a movie, I will watch it.
