Its all over in 4 weeks

Okay..maybe this little experiment with non-actors trying to carry a soap didn't work so well--but Desire and Fashion House will be gone for good in December...then what will be complain about??

They are supposed to be gone in December, telenovelas END. In their place will be two new shows, Wicked Wicked Games and Watch Over Me. And both of those have their share of actors (as opposed to "non-actors"). They premiere on December 6th and the finales of Fashion House & Desire are December 5th.

Robert Buckley's been in pretty much every episode.

The show is not on DVD and, given that it's on a new network and has not received great ratings, it's by no means certain that it ever will be. I doubt the network has decided for certain whether or not there will be a market for it on DVD (I could imagine them having decided that they absolutely won't before I could imagine them deciding that they absolutely will). My guess is there wouldn't be a market. Better shows on bigger networks haven't made it to DVD. The only way I could see it happening is if some cable network picks it up and reshows it and it generates a sleeper following in syndicate. This has happened with some shows.

I think the biggest problem with releasing a dvd for this format is that since there are so many episodes (about 4-5 seasons worth of a regular primetime show not counting the recaps)the dvd set would probably cost a small fortune even if they just transferred everything to dvd without the actors'(using the term loosely)commentaries. Although some really enjoy the show I doubt that many of them (myself included) would be willing to shell out that kind of cash considering the acting, editing isn't all that good. Plus unless they include a "unnecessary flashback free" version of the dvd it wouldn't really be worth it since 50% of this show excluding the last 2 weeks was mostly flashbacks.
Since there are so many episodes made at once in this genre what the "real" telenovelas do is release a 4-5 dvd set that simply chronicles the show's events and its most important moments as opposed to showing the whole show. Perhaps FH should do the same.
