Most of black Hollywood need to move out of the way...

They're taking up room with their inability to recognize great storytelling, their inability to come together with their own resources to create works of substance they believe in, their inability to NOT play the victim role, their inability to be innovative and their collective inability to lead by example. They're in the way of progress. Nothing but a bunch of losers.

There are some exceptions.

Halle Berry - maybe not the best black actress but she is definitely one of the most famous in the world, mainly because of her ability to humble herself, recognize her limitations and disappear into the background for the sake of a film.

Denzel Washington - He could benefit and contribute more by taking the background more, producing a project here, nurturing a director there, etc. Besides that, he simply gets it.

John Singleton - He knows story and really has a talent for the craft of filmmaking, but he tends to be hack sometimes.

Tyler Perry - No, I don't think he has the talent for the craft of film storytelling. But he does have a basic idea of story and he understands the motion picture business. He's a risk taker, very resourceful. Like Denzel, he can also benefit from championing new talent and learning what great storytelling is all about. But he is necessary.

Taraji Henson - She's a survivor, very resourceful like Tyler Perry. She can, however, benefit more from understanding what great story is all about and demanding better from herself.

Will Smith

Queen Latifah

Viola Davis

Terrence Howard

Don Cheadle

Chiwetel Ejiofor

There are others. But they're too irrelevant to hurt black Hollywood, let alone to be mentioned here, while big enough to recognize if they are walking down the street in the black community. These types usually put in good work in great movies no matter how small the role. With more of the right focus, these types can become relevant players in Hollywood.

As for the rest of them, like the many who had something to do with the making of this unimaginably horrendous film, they need to do us all a favor and disappear. Their idea of "the right focus" is getting together and partying at really lame film festivals like American Black Film Festival and Urbanworld Film Festival. They need to simply move out of the way for really talented young people of color looking to do great things with their abilities, abilities most of them so tragically don't possess.
