Jay's TLC Killer joke

I felt uncomfortable watching this. I was squirming. It was unbelievably lame. How could someone who thinks that was funny weasel themselves onto Dane Cook's tour? I guess Dane wants to give him a shot but where did Jay come from in the first place? I can't see this man landing a gig anywhere.

Ive seen Jay twice when he opened up for Dane and he wasnt that bad. He was an above average comic anyway. But that TLC joke is awful. I almost feel like Dane, Gary and Bobby are backstage just laughing their asses off at him and that joke. Its obvious that the joke sucks.

Agreed, the joke sucks. The only way I see it getting a laugh is if Jay acts nice for the setup and then says something really off color or blue. The punchline he has now is very weak and is something you would do for senior citizens, not a college crowd. I don't really see timing or state of mind as too much of a factor, the material is just not good.

Talking? During Horsehead bookends?

The worst part about that joke (aside from the bumbled delivery in almost every episiode so far) is that Dane keeps encouraging him to do it. He has to know it's not funny... I mean, it's just not. The premise is stupid. A better punchline wouldn't really save it, nor would a smooth, confident delivery. Why doesn't someone just tell him?

I had the same exact feeling. I've never seen anyone bomb that badly before, especially someone who has a lot of expectations--I mean he's on Tourgasm so they probably expect everyone to be a little funny. But they have only been showing that one joke that he just made up so maybe he's not that bad.

so um..... what's the joke? sorry, don't really watch the show, but now ya'll got me interested.

He basically says something about how he's too nice. His friend's say he kills people with kindness. If he were a serial killer, he'd be the TLC killer instead of the BTK killer.

Pretty weak joke. In the hands of a more skilled comic, it might get a polite chuckle from the crowd. Watching Jay Davis stumble over this joke just makes everyone uncomfortable and he never gets a laugh. I'm sorry, I really admire his courage to get up on-stage and do his routine (God knows I couldn't do it), but from what I've seen on the show, he's just not that funny. I would rather watch my 5-year-old nephew do a 30-minute set. Also, it seems like Jay takes things very personally. Does anyone else think that a comic should be able to recognize/take a joke? Robert seems to destroy his feelings on every show. Thicken up that skin Jay or you're going to bleed to death in a rainstorm.

I feel like the reason he was on the show was to create some odd chemistry on the reality show. He isn't that funny. his only slightly funny joke thus far was "hurricane b!tch" and he seems uncomfortable and unstable on stage.

He should drop the TLC joke. I do the same thing, squirm, every time i see it.
