Great martial arts movie.

Man, this was much better than I had anticipated. I loved Ong Bak when it came out, great action sequences, very tight editing. I was very surprised that Ong-Bak 2 takes place 600 years before Ong Bak 1. Talk about a prequel.....

Nevertheless, although it starts off a bit slowly, it quickly picks up the pace. The final fight sequences are incredible. Tony Jaa takes on an army of bad guys using a wide variety of fighting styles. He is most effective when using Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing), the style he used throughout Ong-Bak 1. Knees to the head, elbows, foot thrusts, the guy is unbeatable. What I really like about Tony Jaa movies is that he pulls no punches. This isn't like a Jackie Chan movie where he keeps knocking the same guy down over and over. Tony Jaa goes straight for the kill as quickly as he can, many bad guys are dispatched with a single blow.

The only part I would have deleted was the Thai dancing, which seemed to have nothing to do with the plot. I think Tony Jaa threw it in there because he was hot for the actress. It slowed the film down too much. Fortunately, it only lasts 5 mins but it just struck me as completely out of place.

Am very much looking forward to Ong Bak 3.

I'm with you bro. Word for word. I love this movie.

The dancing was put in merely so Tien could get close enough to Lord Rajasena to assassinate him.

I'm sure Tony Jaa wanted to add some Thai culture in there as well. Nothing wrong with that considering it was a Thai movie after all. ;)

the last 13 minutes where tien fights 45 ninjas was incredible, it was better than the showdown at the house of blue leaves on kill bill part 1 and also better than the burly brawl from the matrix 2

ong bak 2 is just as great as the first one
