Is Katherine Heigl going to be Martie again?

I was looking and couldn't find any information about who's going to play Martie in the new movie. I know that the character of Clark Davis is going to stay the same.

I hope she is the movie wouldn't be the same if she didn't play Martie. Her and Dale ( Clark ) look good together.

reply

Oh, yeah. I was disappointed she didn't make it into Love's Long Journey. And in response to another thread, Logan Bartholomew's character doesn't die. In fact, Clark almost dies.

Clark "almost" dies in Love's Enduring Promise. I heard that in this movie it's his leg that is injured again. What's up with that?

reply

In the book, Clark's leg - the same one he injured in Love's Enduring Promise - is injured. He almost dies in this book also.

reply

In The Book He Looses The Leg Saving Someone.

reply

Yes, but if you notice the movies are almost completely different entities from the books.

I read a few of the books because of the first movie. Seem like Clark and someone else was trying to get some kids out of a cave I believe and in the process getting out Clark get's hurt.

Now back to Katherine Heigl....

As much as I want her in the movie I don't think so since she has Grey's Anatomy, and filming Knocked Up (That's sort of a sequel to 40 Year Old Virgin) just completed a movie called Caffeine) and she is engaged to music singer Josh Kelley who she starred in his music video Only You. The two started dating after the filming of the video

I don't know what else to think of really... If you look back to Love's Enduring Promise yes the movie was mainly about her Clark (Dale Midkiff) was featured a whole lot more then Katie.

And look back at the last movie I don't even remember Marty's character mention. They showed Dale a little bit when he was writing Missie a letter. How can Dale be in this new movie again as Clark but someone new not playing Marty's character. The last one just wasn't right not having both Dale and Katie together. Because without the two in the first one I doubt it would be any good or be any sequels

reply

Unlike having both January and Erin playing Missie, they probably didn't want to recast Marty since Katherine was perfect. I know why Erin took over for January. But also, Missie changes as she grows older and journeys West. So Erin fit the role better. But maybe the Directors/Producers couldn't see anyone but Katherine as Marty.

In the second book there is brief paragraph mentioned where Clark hurts his leg and all the chrildren have to pick up the slack and how Clark hated just lying around. In the fourth book Clark helps to save a liitle boy from a collapsed mine and gets injured and almost dies. So if they follow both then the fourth movie will seem like the same plot line as the second book because the second movie covered just a short portion of the book. Read the books :)
