Will this film EVER be released?

With a great story and a superb cast, why isn't this film being released? What's holding it up?

With talent like Farmiga, Kretschmann, Malkovich -- and production designer Svetozarov, how can it go wrong?

Why, according to imdb.com, it is still considered to be "in production" when it was wrapped so long ago and all the post-production work has been long completed?

If "Goodbye Lenin" found someone to release it, surely the same group could release "In Tranzit."

If no one is picking it up for a theaterical release, then why not release it in video -- this way, probably more people will see it than it if were to be screened in theaters.

I totally agree with you, I hope they sort it out SOON!!!!

Maybe if the title were changed, the film would have a greater chance of being picked up. I heard that the production value is very high. However, "In Tranzit" is kind of an unusual title. I wonder if the producers approached MIRAMAX?

Or Focus Features, IFC, Paramount Classic, Warner Independent...I hope.
Let the fingers crossed!

TheMisterLonely -- You probably saw it at a film festival or you know someone in production who has a copy of it. Now I wish it were released on DVD even more. I like films that are bleak ... My grandmother went through the same events as are portrayed in that film.

reply

I saw a screener, yes. I no longer have it unfortunately. Looking back on it now I didn't like it all that much. Malkovich was 'aright'. Natalie Press is brilliant, as is Daniel Bruhl.

Hi, I want to ask if the film is violent? Any Body Counts? Is Daniel Bruhl's character very evil? Did he die or was killed in the end (how if he died)? Please tell me, in a spoiler post... thanks!

I hope you can alot some patience with me... I am tired waiting of this film to be released... Thanks...

SPOILERS....

Daniel Bruhl does die... I seem to remember he's plowed down by a tram or a train or something alike, near the end, while attacking another character.
I don't recall any real graphic violence, but there is an upsetting suicide scene with Natalie Press. She is also forced by John Malkovich to strip naked outside in the snow in front of all the prisoners. It's one of the bleakest films as I recall. Vera Farmiga was very good and very well cast.

Too bad for Daniel's character... Daniel is my favorite actor by the way! Where have you seen it? I wonder when will it be released in cinema or video... Any idea what happened to the marketing of this film? Thanks!
