This film could have been so good. They had the costumes, the characters and the right actors, but they just could not pull it off. It's such a shame! What a fantastic story, if only it was told accurately and with passion.

There is NO WAY that the Russian guards would have given the prisoners instruments and make them play at a dance. That the Russian women, obviously widows and women left without their husbands and men from the war, would have danced with German soldiers; they would have spit on them rather than even look at them! And as if the guards let the prisoners out for a night of fun! This is so ridiculous!

Vera Farmiga was beautiful and amazing as Natalia, and I quite admired the other actors. I'm so disappointed with In Tranzit, though. The characters and their personal stories could have been more developed, it seemed so shallow. Why couldn't we see more romance between the doctor and the soldier? Why could't we know more details about the doctor's husband/former lover?
