No, i'm not kidding or trying to be funny. Anyone notice the huge similarities with these two movies? Dead lovers "speak from the dead" to get their spouses to move on with their lives and find happiness, or hinder them. Both feature a failed attempt at romance with a platonic male best friend. AND both feature "Lloyd I'm ready to be heartbroken" by Camera Obscura!

I rented both of them today (I wasn't trying for a thematic double feature, it just worked out that way). I saw P.S. first and was bored to tears. Overlong by at least 30 minutes, full of ENDLESS flashbacks that didn't really have too much of a point (seriously, that scene in Ireland with the dog felt like half the movie). And the acting was just kinda flat by everyone, surprising since there's two Oscar winners in the mix.

"Over Her Dead Body", on the other hand, had almost the exact same themes of letting go and moving on, and even though I actually didn't think it was very funny (more gags failed than worked) I thought it was way better. And considering the cast was headed by a TV star/tabloid magnet, a hipster/indie actor, and an unknown to me (Lake Bell), the acting was surprisingly effortless and natural.

Sure the effects are shoddy and they were obviously aiming lower, (and with the farting gag, WAY lower), but something tells me "Dead Body" will be the "Hey that really wasn't that bad" DVD of the year. Seriously.

I laughed a lot when I watched Over her dead body. BUT I cried when I watched PS I love you. Dead Body is more goofy and PS is more realistic. I have to agree they do have very similar plot. But the way the story goes is totally different. Regardless I really liked both movies.

PS I Love You is a far better movie I am a guy and I liked it(surprising I know) The only good thing about Over Her dead Body was Eva Longoria Parker and Paul rudd . She was pretty good in her role and was hot as usual. PS I LOVE YOU had much better acting as well Cathy Bates,Hillary Swank, and gerard Butler could act cirlces around anyone in Over her dead Body. Just my opinion though I wont be watching this movie again anytime soon if ever.

Over Her Dead Body: 3/10
P.S. I Love You: 7/10

I watched PS I LOVE YOU first and then this movie and I was bored to death. I found PS I LOVE YOU very touching. Unless you've lost someone you love you probably won't know how touching that movie is.

I WILL HAVE TO TOTALLY AGREE WITH slipperyfloor ... THE MOVIES R IN 2 DIFFERENT DIRECTION....
AND I WILL HAVE TO DISAGREE IN LOVING BOTH MOVIES..I LOVED P.S I LOVE...BUT I HATED THIS ONE.

The only reason I even watched it was because Eva Longoria was in it! However, it wasn't as bad as it was going to be. Coming from the male point-of-view, I have seen a lot worse than this one. How to lose a guy in 10 days comes to mind...that was torture the likes that hadn't been seen even at Guantanamo Bay. 5/10.

Well, I have never seen PS. I Love You but I just wtched this last night and it was really entertaining. I thought it was really funny at some points too. My mother cried in like the first ten minutes of PS though and then started crying again in the middle....and at the end....lol but I really thought this movie was a good one to watch at least a few times.

To be fair, almost anything is better than PS I Love You!

It's made from bits of real panther, so you know it's good...

I thought PS I Love You was pretty bad really. I saw it at a free screening so I can't complain too much but it didn't seem to work either as a comedy or a drama, the whole scenario was rather creepy and Gerard Butler was so irritating I just couldn't wait for his character to kick the bucket.

This film is by no means great art, in fact it's not even a great comedy, but it was pretty good really and I enjoyed it which I can't really say for PS I Love You.

If it weren't for my horse I wouldn't have spent that year in college.
