What was the point of Tara's character???

This Tara girl was clearly a snooty, stuck up b!tch who disliked John and Dean and found them to be losers that made her uncomfortable. Yet she was always willing to look after their comatose father while they were out. That didn't make any sense to me. If she doesn't like these guys, why would she look after thier dad? she seemed to go back and forth between being a nice caring lady, to being a snobby, standoffish twat. I was just very confused as to what the point was to her character. And there was never any pay off that explains any of this.

She states that she needs hours of watching someone for healthcare... Or something like that. Then she falls in love with him for some unknown reason and he just drops her... For the laughs. Someone needed to watch their father.

Kinda a weird character. But a lot of hot chicks aren't always mean. It's also realistic because she recognized Soloman as not a winner.

Malin was ultimately there for TA. She has nice A. This was the peak of her A.

Many scripts do get rewrites based on requests by the producers or the studio.
It's likely that somebody realized that there was just one female character fully fleshed out in the original screenplay and asked for another. So, Will Forte developed Tara's character, but didn't actually do much with her, like a proper arc.

It was really a missed opportunity, especially as Malin Akerman has turned out to be a talented comedian.

was i missing an obvious masturbation joke that everyone understood except me because tara liked the bathroom a lot.

I wouldn't call her stuck up at all. John seemed creepy to me- waiting outside her doorway with food without even asking her? Then we're supposed to feel sorry for him? She was clearly just eye candy, which is disappointing because Malin has good comedic timing

-Who is it?
-It's Grandpa. And it sounds like he's gotten into the horseradish again.
