What is it about this show?

It's so simple, there's not much to it but it still manages to grab a hold of you.

bayon, I do the same thing. I stumbled upon this one day. I thought it was an opening sequence to a show but it just kept going. haha! I love it! It is so simple but beautiful. It grabs a hold of ya. I love waking up just so that I can go back to bed with it on. It's relaxing and makes me feel like I am out in the beautiful wilderness!

I just discovered thsi show this morning! What a wonderful program. It reminds me of watching Yule log in England on Christmas mornings. I was watching the episode "Moose in the Morning" and starting to feel absolutely Zen when suddenly there was a very loud and disturbing commercial. The producers of this wonderful series should insist that it air without commercial interruption! Otherwise, this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on the television. I hope they release it on DVD soon!

Ray, funny you should mention "Yule Log"; they have started running the old U.S. version from WPIX on satellite t.v. last year. I had no idea there was a British version! More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yule_Log_%28TV_program%29

My boyfriend and I also agree about the jarring ads that interrupt the show; they seem to pick the most annoying ones as well, with the spokespeople that yell. I wonder if there is anything we as viewers can do? I'm going to try writing to Animal Planet about it, as it ruins this otherwise remarkable program. I used to wake up by watching CNN news, and this is such a less stressful way to start the day!

The only time I'm disappointed while watching this show is when the commercials come on. Oh well...

I babysit my cousins from time to time (3 and 4) and being the little devils they are, I thought the only thing to keep them occupied is some children's TV show. But even this show has managed to calm them down somewhat.

I think there's something about the complete lack of narration.
You are so accustomed to listening to people ALL THE TIME or some other noise created by man that the complete lack of it is very similar being out in the wilderness itself. Very peaceful.

It's all the beauty of nature without the hassle (or trauma) of camping

And that's all I have to say about that
