The skeptics always get the last word

This series puts up the "fair and balanced" guise like Fox News, but it's clearly one sided. The skeptic interviews always get the most air time and they always get the last words in before the credits roll .

It doesn't exploit people that want to see things as ''scientific'' that just aren't accepted in the scientific field. This show is clearly meant to debunk and demystify popular phenomena. And you know what...that is pretty refreshing! At the time they had tons of stupid shows that were basically not much more than scary stories. This particular show at least delved deeper into the material and looked for answers that go beyond esotheric babble without any concrete proof.

Terrible comparison, Fox News is Ancient Aliens and all the other paranormal shows in the world. Is It Real is NPR. At worst you could *maybe* compare it to Bill Maher and Richard Dawkins, but Fox News is clearly on the other side of the political spectrum from Is It Real.

I find Is It Real extremely refreshing, compared to most of the shows that are running currently, where science and objectivity are exiled to Elba. Shows like Ancient Aliens never even pretend to have a sliver of factual basis, whereas shows such as Fact or Faked, MonsterQuest, and Destination Truth will occasionally err on the side of factual evidence, but then in other episodes they'll blatantly ignore their own findings or factual evidence just to throw conspiracy theorists a bone.

Sewing delusion is neither fair, nor balanced. I'm a alien/cryptid/ghost geek m'self, but lying about the facts isn't going to make those things any realer, it's just going to make us less informed and more crazy.

I only had to watch one show before I knew it was completely sided towards skepticism. Hell I only had to listen to the word "supposedly" a few times at the beginning of my first episode to see where it was going - and the last 5 minutes cemented it.

it seems one sided because it is. There aren't really other options. eg the Russian bigfoot episode, what do you want them to say? "well there is absolutely no evidence it exists at all, but we'd better say they might still be there to shut up the whiney believers" ? Same goes for bigfoot, lochness monster, ghosts, alien visitations need I go on. Skeptics require evidence and are prepared to change their views if presented with it. Believers are like religious people; you believe no matter what and doesn't accept evidence to the contrary.
