7.7 rating? WTF is wrong with u ppl

When I saw the rating 7.7, I thought, 'can Van Damme rly make 2 good movies'. The only good movie he have have made, so far, is bloodsport, and it rly aint that good :P AND omg this movie sucks. In the first scene they use mirror effects. At one point his bump is in the right side of his forehead, and in another it is in his left side.
In the first action scene they swop weapons. One word:'shotguns'. etc. Bad acting, stupid plot, Van Damme is crap as usuall. etc etc. I guess the ones that have given this movie more than 3+ in rating are guys/girls that love movies like, Street fighter, Double Team etc.

Ps. (Street fighter, Double Team etc = *beep* movies.)

pss. Yeah I like the abridgment etc :P

Next time if you want to be taken seriously you probably shouldnt use colons and the letter "p" to put faces in your post. Just alittle advice. Hope that helps.

I don't like Street Fighter or Double Team (although Van Damme is ok in em), but this movie is awsome, just like Replicant, In Hell and Wake of Death. Van Damme has really gotten his act together. He's acting skills are growing and growing and his movies are getting better and better. While Second in Command and The Hard Corps was more like his late 90's films, Until Death took him back up again to the new level he has started exploring. And I really hope more people start noticing just how great Van Damme has become!

reply

ahaha, that is a joke. please....acting skills are growing? how old is he? 50?. by the time his 'acting skills' reach on par with denzel washington or tom cruise, he'd probably be in his 3rd life time.
anyway, this movie looks as if it was from the 90's... yet it was released in 2007. i'd hafta say, his movies suck.

reply

He's already on Denzel Washington and Tom Cruise's level. Maybe beyond Cruise. And I never really liked the flashy lipgloss look of 2000 movies anyway. I'm more a 70's kinda guy when it comes to atmosphere/feeling/look. And yes, many of his movies does suck, but he is still pretty cool in most of em.

denzel and van damn are two different kinda actors.. its like comparing edward nortan to stallon or arnold... arnold, van damn, stallon soemtimes even bruce willis were not great actors but they brought us some of the best action movies, not drama etc.. anyhow everyone has different cups of tea, van damn tho not a good drama actor is still one of the best action stars there was

im actually watching it right now, and so far i have to say Van Damme is the only good actor in this movie, thats totally wrong? right. I dont think so, this is by far Van Dammes best perfomance.
There is actual acting in this flick lol

In my opinion.

reply

In some ways I agree as have saw almost every film he has done, His early days were his best and this film is mediocre at best, even when he comes out of his coma he still looks tired and past his sell by date.

reply

Well, he did just come out of a coma.

reply

hahah...

i didnt think this movie was that bad considering it was a van damme film...it was better than expected, a few cheesy effects, esp. one scene where this guy is handcuffed to a pole, shoots his own hand off to get away from the people after him, and when he shoots his hand off it cuts to a farther away shot and i could totally tell that the hand was fake...lol but i ignored it. van damme did a couple cool moves that said "dont mess with me", but i kind of liked that there was no martial arts. gunfights were pretty good.

And for the record, Van Dammes movies continually surpass anything that Steven Segal does....Segal just doesnt seem to care that much about quality or story or good action. overall this movie was somewhat of a step up for Van Damme. The story was kind of lame, not original, but whatever. You have to take his movies for what they are, since he is not a great actor.

but i give him credit because i could never be as good of an actor as he is.

at first this movie was good. i enjoyed it til alittle after van damme came out of his coma. it just seemed as if the director just got careless and just said ok lets just end the movie. i think van damme did his part by proving he can do other roles besides the same old stuff he did in theaters. i cant believe there are people that say he should go back to doing his old stuff. HELLO.....thats the reason why he is in STV LAND to begin with. (or DTV however you want to put it) now im not saying this movie should have went to theaters or van dammes acting skill was oscar material but it was better. much better. he wasn't given any cheesy lines. most of van dammes theatrical movies were the same. almost same plot. a guy that tries to get revenge on the death of his brother or father or best friend etc. or hes fighting in some sort of tournament. dont get me wrong i like some of them. there were other theatrical films he did that didn't have the same plot like universal soldier, legionaire and a few others. another problem i have with him is that he knows some sort of martial arts style but his films don't really show him doing much except kicks. maybe his style specialized in mostly kicks who knows but i don't know i guess thats a flaw that could easily be mistaken or corrected. the only reason why i keep watching his movies because it seems as if he could have done better. or the people making the movie could have done better. this movie was good but not theatrical good. in order for it to make theaters, especially in the United States you need something solid from beginning to the end. at first i enjoyed how van damme was being a dirty cop and how the story was going. but for some reason the story went downhill. the worst part is the climax of the film and how it ended. the camera work didn't bother me and neither did the acting. it was decent. above average for an stv but not good enough for an oscar. i wouldnt even care if van damme won an oscar or not. you don't need an oscar to like a movie. especially action movies. theyll never get an oscar. even theatrical action movies today without van damme have cheesy lines. for example in Mission Impossible 2 the part where anthony hopkins says " this isn't Mission difficult mr hunt this is mission impossible" it kinda sounds weird and cheesy. mentioning the name of the movie in the movie kinda makes it sound like its a gameshow. AND NOW ITS TIME FOR MISSION IMPOSSIBLE WITH YOUR HOST BOB BARKER.......

Agree with you. I rated it a 2 at Netflix. (Would be nice to be able to import my netflix ratings into imdb.)First movie i've watched with him. Weak all around. If you like shoot em up movies without quality acting and weak lines this is a good one. The triteness in some of the lines is amazing. Surprised the goofs mentioned in the other posts haven't been posted to the goofs column in imdb.

I don't get it.

Your writing skills qualify you to like *beep* movies.
