Why on earth did Nichelle Nichols agree to star in a movie like this?

Since the director of this movie decided that this post wasn't worthy of "his" board and deleted it, I'll just keep reposting this until the mods take notice that there is NOTHING in this post that goes against the TC of IMDB and ban him for unlawful reporting of threads.

And I didn't really care that much about that thread anyway, but deleting post like that just pisses me of.

Original Post:

I stumbled across this movie from a weird and fascinating deleted thread on the help board(seems like the director himself was complaining about the fraudulent voting on IMDB). But then I saw that Nichols was in it! I immediately got interested as a long time Trekkie. But then I saw the trailer...
Good Lord, I felt sorry for her. It looked like a bad porn movie. Without porn. The acting, directing, lighting, cinematography , the dialogue...

Why would such a distinguished lady agree to do such an awful movie? Was she a friend of the producer or something and did it as a favor?

On the other hand, I saw that she got an "executive producer" credit which is a classic Hollywood bribe indicating she didn't do it as a favor to somebody she knew. So I was wondering what's going on?

Thanks for bumping the post that started it all for me.
Hey, Neil, bet you regret deleting this post now.

Ah, remember when this movie had a 4 1/2 star rating out of 5 on Amazon? A higher IMDB-rating(lol at his claims of a cyber attack when the IMDB rating always had been low here)? A puff piece on Wikipedia praising the movie? People not making fun of him on IMDB? His blog clean from embarrassing rants about imdb and embarrassing letters to the CEO of Amazon, and the official website for his movie had a lot more content and he had a trailer to show?

Those were the days. Right Neil?

Well, there were various sweeteners to the deal.

*She got to be an executive producer.
*She got to be the lone star (I don't think she's ever gotten to do that.)
*She got to sing, which seems to be her first love, so a 'musical' was a draw.

She's pure class - it wasn't her singing or her voice, I just didn't particularly care for the songs. They just aren't my thing. 'The Musical Brothel Comedy?' Ehhhh. Aside from the goofy 'ah-hurk-garsh, I have all these women around me!' bit, for the subject matter there certainly was a lack of (what can I say that won't get this deleted, hmmm..) 'sensuality.'
