Did I see a Dolly track in the scene where people go into the party?

I watched this on a plane - I thought I saw a very conspicuous Dolly track on the pavement. Its in one of the very first scenes when the teenage kids go into the party. If it is a dolly track - why was it left in?? Did they have no other coverage? I hurt my brain that film makers can be that sloppy.

I personally think the editor was sloppy.

Where'd you get that?

There is also a big chunk of track in scene late in the movie, I think it was a push into the library where Charlie is searching for his girl.

I'm sure the DP assumed they would be removed in post. They obviously ran out of time or money or both.

reply

They sure as hell didn't run out of time. They've been sitting on this movie for 2 years.

I was just about to post the same topic lol.

Thought it was pretty funny.

There are also a few inaccuracies with time and place, etc. In one scene for instance, Charlie is wearing a New York Knicks hat that would definitely not be in use at the time the movie is supposed to be in.

It's pretty accurate to say that Jason Ritters character walks into the camera/cameraman at the end of the flick when his character and the chick are on the boat. When Jesse Eisenburgs character runs up.

Did you see the film in its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio? Sometimes, when they open up the matte for 1.78 or 1.33 TV presentations, they overlook things like dolly tracks or boom shadows - sometimes even the boom itself. I can't believe the editors let the dolly tracks go - and I never saw them myself in the 2.35:1 version.

its fixed on the DVD
