Overdone score

jesus, anyone notice the spiratic use of the over dramatic score??? almost ruined it for me, pretty good flick.

reply

Nope. Didn't really notice the music at all. They say that's the sign of a good score, one you don't notice. What's "spiratic"? Not familiar with that term. Neither is dictionary.com.

you know Spiratic. the score popped up at moments it wasnt needed and other bogus places throughout. i dunno, i surely noticed it. the quietest parts of the movie, parts where there is just simply "dialogue" and nothing more, the overdramatic score took over and i found myself missing plot points due to the scoring. im sure not everybody feels this way, i was jsut wondering if anyone else did or if its me trying to find something bad cuz its a dang ol' Fred Durst movie. other than that i though he did a great job. oh, dictionary.com is a sham. you probably wont find that word in there either. or the word poof.

I noticed something about the score, but couldn't quite put my finger on it. I liked the music, but whenever there would be a score in the background I thought to myself; does this music really fit the scene?

WOW! You corrected two of his misspellings of 5th grade words, you must be so much smarter than him. There, do you feel better about yourself now?

Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.

It's S-P-O-R-A-D-I-C, fool. If you're going to diss the dictionary, at least get the word right.

Yeah, I found the score distracting at points. At times it seemed like it was mixed in too loud, and drowned out the actors voices.

It never bothered me, I liked the score. I thought that it fit the feel of the film. Especially in the last fight scene on the beach. Loved that.

Enjoyed the film very much, and the musical score itself wasn't bothersome but was too overpowering. My volume button on my remote got quite a workout due to the fact I had to turn the sound WAY up to hear dialogue and voice-overs while background music was playing, and then turn it sharply back down when loud noises occured in absence of music.

reply

Man, that's weird. I've seen the movie a bunch of times, both on cable and my DVD copy. Never had that problem. Do you have some monster sound system or something? Spock ears? What? I don't get it.

No "sound system" to speak of: Just whatever speakers built into my 27 inch old style ( tube ) television.
