Jason Ritter in the Education of Charlie Banks

Charlie is cruising through the transition between adolesence and manhood while studying at an elite academic institution. Jason Ritter delivers a riveting performance as a foe to the movies main character, Charlie. Jason's character, Mick, is an old acquaintance from the wrong side of the tracks that shows up to up end Charlie's now balanced world.

From what I've seen so far, Jason Ritter DOES give a great performance. For some reason, he reminds of a young Matt Dillon.

Ritter is fantastic in this. Made me see him in a whole new light.

reply

I don't know, but he kept screaming Mark Wahlberg for some reason!!!

reply

Yesss! Me too. His role was so much like Mark in Fear.

yep thats what I was thinking all through the film- Matt Dillon! If the film was made in the early 80's thats who would have played Mick forsure.

I adored Jason Ritter's performance. I wish this film had gotten more attention because his performance was COMPLETELY overlooked. The guy has got what it takes to last in Hollywood.

He really was excellent. I felt so my tension every time he was onscreen.

i hope you choke on your bacardi & coke!

He did a fantastic job. He really nailed the part . . . it was set up so well. Every time he's in the room, you feel like the guy could completely snap. Almost like Joe Pesci in Goodfellas ...

Excellent point. You don't have to be some muscled meathead to be dangerous.

you have to admit that Jason learned from the best - his dad, John Ritter. I think part of that talent must've been inherited, but Jason has a lot of the same phrasing and delivery that his father did. In the early scenes where he has the 70's hair, he even kinda looks like him.

the only problem is that Jason Ritter is very slim, no way he can punch that hard without any muscles, the other guys would definitely put up a fight

I have always seen Jason Ritter in "good guy" roles on TV so I saw this movie today and I was really surprised at how good he was playing the bad guy. Everytime he appeared on the screen he gave off this vibe that made you feel scared even if he was charming and friendly.
