Remote broadcasts

Not sure if I have done a post about this, but sorry if I have but shows that Mike & Mike have done on remote including the last 2 fall football remotes that would be yesterday and this past Friday. They have the audience that is there set up that is directly behind Mike & Mike you know the desk that they have set up for them where I would assume all that would see of them is the back of their heads, in less one or both of them would turn around. But what do you thin about these sets up. I would think it better to have the audience directly in front of them where they would be able to see them better. But I guess that they can only work with what they have.

I personally think remote broadcasts are silly.

I get nothing out of them. The live audiences actually 'ruin the feel' of their show (not that they need any help).

They remind me of how the national NFL broadcasts have the fan base volume turned up to the point you can't hear the broadcasters.

The only time they make sense is if they get a ton of local interviews that they couldn't get normally, but that typically doesn't actually happen.

What makes you hate them so much. I would say I like them better then you do or at least when they can be seen by the audience. I would think it would be nice to do remote broadcasts as you get to go out of your normal studio and broadcast somewhere you wouldn't normally get to. And even with a national show they could go just about anywhere, really honestly you can't see them going to, since when they would get on the air out of the west coast, it would still be in the middle of the night, as the show airs live at 6:00 AM (eastern time) and on the west coast it would be 3 AM in the morning.

I don't mind the remotes either. Some are quite good, such as the ones they did from Greeny and Golic's alma maters, Northwestern and Notre Dame. I enjoy when the Golic brothers come on, too. I especially like when they travel to Philadelphia.

The shows are not polished and there's an extra amount of noise and distraction.

It's not like them having a studio set up in a bar or on the street next to Wrigley Field makes me feel closer to the game or give off any other sort of real environment. Even if that did matter, they've done that for years with a remote reporter. In fact, that reminds me of the silly weather reporters on the beach awaiting a hurricane. Stupid to me, but glad it works for some others.
