Gay Robot Clip - Gay Robot Discussion

I checked it our and I can't even guess why this is supposed to be funny. If someone could explain why this is comedy without just insulting me I'd be grateful. There's a good chance that I'm just not the target audience for something like this, but I'd really like to know who is.

i think its pretty hilarious myself, and im not going to insult because you dont think its funny. you either get it or you dont. same thing with shows like family guy or movies like wet hot american summer some people find them offensive, some find them stupid, and others think they are genius. there are lots of things around that are supposedly comedies (everybody loves raymond?) that i just dont find funny, more uncomfortable than anything. i believe that i am the target audience for this show though. im still in college, and am mature enough to know that this is ridiculous and juvenile, but still immature enough to think its funny as crap. i mean come on, the thing about wanting pubes? he saw them in a movie and wants some? too much. plus pretty much anything nick swardson (the robot voice) does i think is fall down funny. the other guy in that youtube clip i recognize but cant place...can anyone tell me who that guy is? it is driving me crazy because i KNOW that i know him...

if you're talking about the youtube clip where he is talking to the professor its jon glaser. he was a staff writer on conan obrien and did/still does appear in their sketches frequently. he has also been on each season of wondershowzen, once reading a story to kids and the other as part of the horse apples episode. he's hilarious. as for the other clip i found on youtube it was nick swardson himself plus the robot and two other guys i dont know.

All it is, is just a spin off of the "Gay Robot" skit on Adam Sandlers newest cd. I think it is very ammusing, and funny. It isn't in fact funnier than the skit on the cd. It still is good though and has potential to be very entertaining. Too bad it will never be on TV or seen anywhere. Maybe on DVD. Later Fags.

I looked up and watched all of the clips I could find on youtube. Ive got to say I love almost anything comedy, but some shows I just dont get. Like "Scrubs" this show makes no sense to me. Its really not funny in any way. Nick Swardson is a really funny comedian and I like most of his standups and cameos/small roles in movies...but this??? WTF? Hes not even funny in it and, the Gay robot gimmick gets lost in like 30 seconds. Unfortunately I think this is another Great comedian doing bad comedy...it just tries too hard.
Sorry but I give it an f+

Wow! A show about a gay robot!! That's amazing, I mean they could have done a show about gay monkeys, gay giraffes, gay heroin abusers, (oops, I forgot, there was Rent.) gay dogs, gay cats, gay amoebas, gay leprechauns, gay unicorns, gay lions, gay colostomy patients, gay lesbians, (They're lesbians but they're attracted to guys.) gay tapeworms, gay squirrels, gay message posters, gay elephants, gay birds, gay gay gay gay gay & it's still going to be hilarious because the punchline is...(Now this is funny...) IT'S GOT A GAY ROBOT INSTEAD OF A VARIETY OF OPTIONS FOR A MAIN CHARACTER!!! That's Ingenious!! Happy Madison really is a fantastic group of people to have brainstormed such a brilliant idea for a show! I'll be glued to my set just to watch that hilarious GAY robot!

Nothing makes me happier than hearing a bunch of idiots talking about "not getting" this pilot or finding the premise "stupid." I've heard about you guys. You're the same people that laugh at Peyton Manning wearing a moustache or anything done by Eddie Griffin. The punchline of the show is not "this robot is totally gay." You need to look a bit deeper than that. It's a satire on terrible early 90s sitcoms enhanced by the fact that its main character is a gay robot. I agree that the "gay character" thing has already been done, but the fact that he's a) gay and b) a robot living as an accepted member of a meathead frathouse...that's pretty ingenious. And, sure, there's a large element of stupid humor in this pilot, but if you can't laugh at a well-timed fart, well, then you take yourself a bit seriously and can go back to your "How I Met Your Mother" marathon to get your fix.

I am just about to watch the gay robot clip now for the 1st time. If this show ever comes out, it can't be as funny as the clip on Sandler's latest CD. Unless it's an MA rating, it won't come out.
After reading this post about the clip, I am damn sure I will be rolling on the floor laughing. Swardson's characters are genious, in their own faggy way.
