The song is (called talking to my angle)by Melissa Etheridge I think that's the one you are thinking of! it might of been song by someone different hope this helps.

Yes, it was "Talking To My Angel" by Melissa Etheridge, but I'm pretty sure it's not her singing it in the show. I have sent an e-mail to Lifetime to see if they can find out who the singer is. Great rendition. Here are the lyrics:
