I always wanted to know the specific timeline at end of cm to the start of lonesome dove i neevr could add it up correclty, cm ended in 1865 i believe, and the rangers are supposed to have lived in lonesome dove for 16 years and i always assumed the start of lonesome dove was 1877 to my calculations that made it only about 11-12 years. correct me if im wrong maybe some of you know the timeline better.

Lonesome Dove - doesn't say, but Newt is born in Comanche Moon and is about 18 in LD, that puts it at about 1876
Return to Lonesome Dove - takes place right after Lonesome Dove
Streets of Laredo - approx 1892, based on the ages of Lorena's and Pea's children and it estimates Call's age

shareIf Comanche Moon starts in 1858, then it would have to go until 1865, because at the beginning of part 3 it skips to 7 years later, Newt is about 7 yrs old, Gus' wife has died, the civil war is over... etc..
