Question about the necklace

I didn't understand the significance of the necklace. Did it say 'taken'? Why would he give that gift to his prostitute girlfriend? It was obviously expensive if it had a diamond in it, but he didn't seem to really like her or treat her very well. It just seemed strange to me.

Also, why did Arden keep it?

reply

I think he did like her which is exactly why he got it for her. I dont think he anticipated that would be the last time he would see her. It was of course a symbol for him and for her and for Arden when she took it off her body. She kept it because she wanted to be taken.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Thanks for the reply.

Interesting. But a simpler explanation is that there was a diamond in it, and so she didn't mind taking if off a rotting corpse.

Talk about meddling with crime scene evidence!
